He went to Tennessee "To get to that next level." #1 one ranking or whatever, he still hasn't gotten further with the Vols than he did with us. You really can't make that argument. Every year BP has the potential to get to the final four with what he has at Tennessee. Every time he would get to the Sweet 16 at UWM would be considered virtually a miracle. No matter how good we were in 05, the reality is that the odds were heavily stacked against us.

I agree completely that there is no identity of this team... but as far as fans to the game, you're never going to be able to compete with a ranked Marquette team across town for fans. And with UW being not to far away and the amount of UW alum in the area it's hard to pull fans from anywhere when the team isn't a top 50 team in the country...

Everyone also has to remember that this team has only been D1 for a generation. I believe there will be a lot more fans down the road, but it's hard to get the UWM alumni who graduated before the 2000 era who couldn't care less about the team. Now that said, we also have to get the CURRENT students interested in the team. Even though we're not as dominant as we used to be, a 5-5 record should be enough to get the students to come to a FREE basketball game.

This is a stupid thread. There is no reason to fire Rob. Not even close. I'm amazed at how impatient people are. Yes, some bad personal moves which stalled out our progress, really set us back a year. We need to move on from that. Let's get past that and see the team stabilize a bit and mature with some more upper classmen that are not just transfers. We've had a good recruiting class this year. We are 2-0 in the conference. Cool off.

Some are impatient because they flat out dont like Jeter, some are because they want more. We all want more, hell I'm sure Coach Jeter wants more. I think the thing to keep in mind when you start trying to hold Jeter up to Ryan's and Pearl's standards is that both Pearl and Ryan came into a program after Coaching for many, many, years, even being HC at programs for many years. Jeter came in here with no HC experience. So really to me it is dumb to compare him to the two. b**** all you will about other things, but leave that out of the equation.
The funny thing is that this thread doesnt make a damn bit of difference. If anyone things that barring some catastrophic incident Jeter is going to be fired this year when there is a new AD coming in, then you're nuts. You either make the commitment to support the team, or find another one to support. This team is not in a bad spot right now, and I find it funny how many on here can't muster up a positive thing to say when the team wins, but boy bring on a loss and here they come. If it is that frustrating why bother?

Cool off. Do you know what's stupid? "We're 2-0 in conference." That's stupid. It's like the Brewers fans (and Ned Yost) who said "We're still in 1st-place) back in 2007 when anybody who watched the team knew they were going down the tubes, which they did. I don't see this team, as it's playing now, winning more than two conference road games. The offense it's either very good or totally piss poor, as is the defense. I was optimistic after watching the Marquette game, but now I'm not so sure. The next two conference games are at Loyola and at UIC. I'll be happy to win one of those, but if they play like they have been, they'll be 2-2 in conference. Then what will the argument be?

If it is that frustrating why bother? 1. Of course this thread doesn't make a difference. This entire board doesn't make a difference. Your posts don't make a difference, so why do you post? Because you love UWM basketball and enjoy discussing it with others. That's all any of these threads are. 2. I can only speak for myself - I was impressed with this team after the Marquette game, and said so. This team sucked against Ball St. and Miami, and I said so. Most of us here just comment on what they see. If it's not good, then that's what you'll read. I'm not going to blow sunshine up anybody's ass if the product stinks. And it did in fact stink on Thursday night. 3. Do you equate honest commentary after poor games with not supporting the program? I hope you're not saying this, because you've always argued from a fair point of view.

No need to lock a thread unless the discussion is inappropriate or has turned into simply a giant pissing match.
People have a right to their opinions, and a right to argue and defend those opinions.

1. Davidson is in the SoCon, not the CAA (point still holds, I know).
2. Jessie Evans was forced into a leave of absence last year at San Francisco in December.
