You are confusing Randolph with Oshkosh West.

You are confusing Randolph with Oshkosh West. Yes I am, my mistake.

Saw Chip Rank play tonight for Cedarburg. He scored 30 points on 12 of 18 shooting from the field, including 2 of 3 from 3-point range in a 67-54 victory over Homestead. He's a very smart, well-schooled 6-foot-6, 205-pound small forward with apparent range out to 21 feet. He isn't nearly the same kind of game-changing shot-blocker as Ben Averkamp, but he is a rugged, hustling interior defender who manages to stay out of foul trouble by moving his feet. Get an early commitment on this one.

There sure is a lot of talent in the north suburbs right now. Cerroni, Gasser, Averkamp, Rank. Unusual.
Plenty of other local kids with D1 talent or aspirations too. I assume there are some kids at Vincent and King, among other MPS schools, who have a chance.
It seems like a good time for Rob to have some scholarships available.

The class of 2010 is very solid, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's the best in state history. Several other classes were deeper and had more high-major players.
The only sure-fire high majors at this point are Flavien Davis, Evan Anderson and Marquis Mason. Others will eventually join. It is, however, a great class and a deep class for mid-majors.
It will be interesting to see if Marquette and/or Wisconsin get involved with guys like Kyle Kelm, Chip Rank, Josh Gasser, Kameron Cerroni, Vander Blue, etc. My hunch is that at least a couple of those guys will be recruited by Big Ten-type schools.

Check out those rankings. Look for number 11, Brandon Pritzl a wing guard from De Pere, to start making some noise... given he doesn't get hurt or anything.

Saw Cedarburg v Port Washington. First off not a good night for Gasser at all. His shots just weren't falling his way and even struggled from the FT line. Missed 5 FTs which is apparently unheard of for him. Rank looked pretty good but was taken out of the offensive scheme for stretches at a time. He's got a nice jumpshot and has a pretty solid frame for only being 16. You can tell this kid spends some quality time in the weight room. He's also got a pretty good vertical too. Plays very tough down low and is always looking for the ball but isn't selfish. He's not afraid to pass it off if nothing's there for him. Good FT shooter too. Hopefully he can grow a few more inches otherwise he's looking like a Joah Tucker like player (minus the selfishness). Cedarburg looked a lot like us in that they couldn't close out the game w/ FTs.

One quick note on Gasser. It was his worst statistical game of the year: 2 of 9 from the field and 6 of 11 from the line for 10 points. Josh usually shoots 93 percent from the line. Clearly, this was a team that knew his game very well and responded by throwing a box-and-one defense at him to keep him out of the flow. In return, a 16-year-old seeing the defense for the first time looked like a deer in the headlights. No worries.

Chip Rank scored 16 points in a loss to Milw. Lutheran last night and Ben Averkamp scored 11 points in a victory of Port Washington. Josh Gasser led his team with 19 points in the loss. Kameron Cerroni led his team to a victory over Luke Russel's Menomenee Falls. Cerroni scored a game high 26 points while Russell scored 13.

Do you guys think that we'll be able to centralize our recruiting to just the state of Wisconsin for the 2010 class because of the depth and talent? I'm just guessing there won't be to many trips out of state. Thoughts?
