UIC's Discussion Board (UICJohn) posts --"Whoosh! is reporting that McGee was not at the game and did not contact anyone about, well anything. It basically just says that he didn't bother coming and informed nobody about it. Jimmy is quoted as saying that as far as he knows, McGee has quit. Just what we need." uicflames.proboards28.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=post&thread=1103884298"e=1103884298&start=0

It seems UIC is falling apart quickly. Jimmy better get these head cases fixed...
"The Flames bounced back in a serious way, crushing Saginaw Valley State 79-47 at the Pavilion Thursday night in a game that featured the ejection of Armond Williams for fighting"
"With the game tied at 13-13 with 10:13 left in the first half, the game and perhaps, the season, turned for UIC. Saginaw Valley reserve forward Ron McGrew floored UIC’s Armond Williams with an elbow to the face. Williams, who was making his first start of the season, picked himself off the court and swung a couple of wild haymakers before officials and teammates could restrain him.
Both Williams (pictured) and McGrew were assessed technical fouls and were ejected from the game. Williams had a bandage below his eye and was in good spirits after the game."
" ARMOND AFTERMATH: It appears that Williams will be automatically suspended for UIC’s next game, which happens to a critical Horizon League contest next Thursday at Detroit.
The NCAA states that the head coach should withhold that player from the next scheduled game “even of the conference or athletics director has not contacted” the coach."

Ive been waiting for the HL championship game this year. Hoping that we could play UIC and beat them in the cell this year. However, now that their team seems to have numerous issues on their hand, i do not see them making it to the end of the tournament. Maybe we will play them second round.

...and even if when we do beat them at the Cell, the excuses will fly that it's because such and such wasn't there, etc, etc, etc
Cry me a river and be a little less proud of the thugs you have walking around the UIC court. It's hard enough to get Armond on the court due to grades, and then he can't keep his cool and is off again. Understandingly it was provoked, but don't just come out swinging!

I agree, it was definitely a piss-poor choice by Armond and it will likely cause him to miss our next game at Detroit which I see as almost a must win for us. We don't want to be down 0-2 in conference and Detroit has exactly been stellar this year. However, keep in mind that we have had a rough stretch of games including that loss by UWP. Everybody I'm sure was at the peak of frustration....no excuses, he shouldn't have done it.....but I could see how it could have happened....especially after he was leveled with an elbow to the face. Chill with the grades talk. Armond had to sit out half a season because he graduated in 4.5 years....not 4. Bailey is out because he will likely graduate in 5 years....the NCAA says you must graduate in 4 years. How many of you guys graduated in 4 years? It took me 4.5 and I was a non-athlete with a full courseload. I think you guys would be more understanding of this grade situation if you gambled on these prop 48 players....

Maybe we will play them second round. UWM won't be in the second round. UWM will be seeded into the semifinals.
