i was looking at the box score of last nights game between UIC and ISU and preseason player of the year Cedrick Banks played a full 40 minutes and only had 6 rebounds and 2 points . As a team they were 1 for 8 from 3 point land. they are definately going to have to play better to beat us. their final score was only 60-56.
there is also some talk on the uic flames board that williams may be back for sat....i dont see how that would be possible since the semester isnt over

UIC was probably looking past ISU. Which is exactly what we cannot do tonight!

yep, we have to be careful tonight. the JS today has an article talking about just that. this is a game we should handle but could easily look past. hopefully they can tune up the offense a bit tonight for the big game saturday. i'd especially like to see Ford bounce back from a disappointing game against AF.

What is with Cedrick Banks? I believe he's now gone without a field goal for two straight games. This is perhaps the result of not having Armond Williams or Martell Bailey in the lineup alongside him.

That's OK with me though, cus I hate seeing him when he' s on fire.
As much as I dislike UIC from a rivalry standpoint, you can't deny a players skills.

Cedrick banks is talented, but with his haircut he looks like he should be playing in the WNBA. ;D ;D

ISU - i would say they are good team for basketball, but i didnt think they could hold banks from scoring.
Maybe banks is getting too old to compete with these college kids.

They are simply not a good team this year, dunzz. They lost to Marquette by 28.

Drock- Your right they did lose to Marquette, but they also beat Penn State, and Mississippi while not high profile games still is not to bad for that type of team. Plus ISU might have won 8 games last year so the team is making steps, still its always tough to win on someone else's homecourt. Just ask everyone who came into Detroit over that streak they had

Good point, Spike. Though I certainly wouldn't rush to label Penn St. a good team. Also, 32 points against this Marquette team is pretty humbling. Nonetheless, it's a testament to your program that you can win on an MVC team's floor when Ced Banks scores only two points.

I think that ISU will turn out to be a pretty good team this year when all is said and done. UIC by no mean put it on them, but they did get a road win, which isn't easy to come by - especially with your best player having a terrible game (in terms of scoring). At the end of the day I think UIC's win down there will look better at the end of the season. Now, lets hope that Banks stays in his funk........it will make things a lot easier for us.
