I don't understand how stuff like this can happen? He was supposedly one credit short because he did make make “satisfactory progress towards a degree during the course of their academic studies.” Does GB not have academic counselors? Do the coaches not check up on players? What about the NCAA compliance officer(s)? This is not something that "just happens." He (along with many others) should have known about this for a long time (the rules haven't changed lately). Why wouldn't he just have enrolled in another course towards his major in the spring semester? Is summer school not an option? This sounds fishy to me. What do you guys think?

I can't believe someting like this would happen either. I mean, how can you end up a credit short unless you maybe fail a class in summer that you needed to be elgible. Still, the rules are pretty cut and dry in respect to what needs to be completed in a year to regain elgibility. You had to wonder if grades were going to be a problem after he was not admitted into St. Louis last year. This lose will be a big blow to the Phoenix. Morris better get his act together or he will find himself on the sidelines for the entire year.

Frankly, guys, there have been a lot of strange things at GB since the poor man's Coach K took over there. In addition to Morris' ineligibility, which had been inferred for some time on the GB message board, there was the recruitment of Robert Zuk, who -- only after he signed his letter of intent -- was found to have played pro ball overseas; the unrecruitment of Dupree Fletcher, which was handled very publicly through the local newspaper (very poor form); and the signing of Australian guard Daniel Munday sight-unseen. Very peculiar.

Very good points dylanrocks! There are some "interesting" things that have occurred. Time will tell if it is just coinscience or not, but I am with you........some flags are starting to be raised at this point. For the sake of basketball in Wisconsin and conference, I hope everything is on the up and up/legit, but TK's tenure hasn't been smooth as silk to date (no big bumps, but a lot of little potholes).

Interesting scoop guys. As usual, you're on top of it.
Funny thing is, from the postings on the HL GB board you'd think TK is the second coming.....
