I heard some good news for Panther fans tonight from a guy who is a UIC fan. He indicated that it looks like Banks and Bailey won't be back. Banks has been doing NBA tryouts over the past week, his most recent was with Memphis. Bailey on the other hand was at a overseas tryout camp this past weekend. Although there is no offical word if those two guys are gone for sure, it looks very much like those two will be getting paid to play next year and not playing in the HL. If this "rumor" becomes fact, UWM will have to be considered the favorite to win the HL next year.

Another point: If they wanted to play at UIC next year, wouldn't they be in Chicago trying to wrap up school instead of running around the world to tryouts?
Good news indeed, lets hope this becomes fact in late July.....

UIC blowing away a chance at greatness. They had the making of a special season. In a small way I am somewhat upset they could not keep it together, as this would have been great for the conference. Most importantly these guys are losing their education, which I doubt either can ever make it in pro-sports (outside chance with Banks).
UWM just passed several athletes through graduation this semester, including Milks who I believe made it in 4 years (pretty rare with most students!). Our players move on to degrees, which is more important in the larger scheme.
Without either Banks or Bailey...this blows the HL race wide open. I believe UWM should be the front-runner if this happens (Detroit and Butler close behind).
Later, UWMfreak
