According to the Green Bay Press Gazette, UWGB is having some tough times recruiting. First off, it appears like UWGB has ended their attempt at recruiting DUPREE FLETCHER! Does this mean we are in the lead? "It appears UWGB will not take Milwaukee King guard Dupree Fletcher, the AP player of the year. Although Kowalczyk offered him a scholarship earlier in the year, concerns about Fletcher’s character and off-court behavior have prompted Kowalczyk to stop recruiting the guard." Secondly, the artle states FLOWERS is out as well... "It also looks as though UWGB will pass on Jonte Flowers, a former first-team all-state basketball player from Madison La Follette who last week announced he would leave the UW football team to pursue a college basketball career. He is expected to attend a junior college next year. " Lastly, one of their recruits has to sit out a year in JC. "DeMarcus Bell, a senior from Racine St. Catherine’s High School who signed with the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, will not play basketball for the Phoenix next season and instead will attend a junior college." www.greenbaypressgazette.com/sports/archive/sports_15461551.shtmlTough week for UWGB basketball! Thanks Freak...........
I think the Fletcher thing is a way for GB to try to save a little face by saying that they are not interested any longer rather than have him not choose GB......of course this is just speculation, but that is what I think.

Pnthr30, I agree on your speculation about Green Bay's statement on Dupree in the Press Gazette.
RUMOR on campus is that Dupree will make his choice by the end of the week.
My main concern is that because Dupree had such an outstanding State Tourny Final, major conference schools might have begun to scout him with greater interest. Any insight? Or is it now between Baylor and Milwaukee?
Thanks, UWMfreak

There is new teams involved. Cincinatti is now in the mix, and I seriously doubt that Fletcher will be a Panther in 2004-05.
