Here's to Paige Paulsen in his natural '3' spot, Torre Johnson as a dominant '4,' Ricky Franklin becoming the player we thought he could be and the officials allowing Tim Flowers a chance to play against Northern Iowa!

what a win. this team has heart, and talent! clearly Tim's first half absense altered their game plan drastically.
hopefully the shots will start to fall on a consistent basis. that's my biggest concern with this team.
i can't wait for Sunday's game!

Yeah, I read some of the early posts from the first half.
I don't know if you can say Jeter didn't have them ready. When Flowers gets a couple of cheap ass fouls, and only plays 4 or 5 minutes in the first half, that alters your game plan quite a bit.
Also when NO ONE can hit a frickin' jump shot, that has nothing to do with the coaches.

BTW, Pantherlou, SRT4Driver + girlfriend, dunnedeal, and Jhart05 joined me at Amann's. It was a good time, and I'm going to talk to them about decorating the place up a bit with some UWM stuff.
Definitely a spot we'll make our own over the season.

Ricky is quicky becoming the player we thought we had last year. Get him into the starting lineup along with Roberts. This having a spark of the bench crap is old. We cant dig a hole the first 5 minutes of games by not starting our best 5. I agree Teddy. Ricky and Deonte should definitely be starting over Roman and Hanson. This team won't be able to come back from 15-point deficits to some of the better teams we'll face this season. Go with your best 5 right off the bat and let it ride.

I have a soft spot for Roman...he's worth a starting spot.
Hanson should be on the court with the game on the line.

Yup.
Don't see how or why Deonte won't be starting very soon.
Love seeing that kid on the floor.

I have a soft spot for Roman...he's worth a starting spot. Hanson should be on the court with the game on the line. What's Roman done to earn the spot? Watching him w/ the ball in the 2nd half felt like a turnover waiting to happen. Not to mention his shot wasn't even close. Maybe he'd shoot it better coming off the bench where there's a little less pressure.

My expecations for Gentry were sky high coming into last year (Mr Basketball for Iowa) and he never lived up to them. They were very high for him this year again based upon how he finished last year and hearing he was a front runner for a starting spot told me he had continued to progress. He has done nothing to show me he should start at this point (and I didnt even see tonights game). If his job is to shot the 3 and slash to the basket and he cant hit the 3 then give me Roberts who can atleast get to the hoop and make things happen and gives us a strong defensive presence and a strong ball handler.

The season is still early and I think you need to give Gentry a few more games. Who cares if Roberts starts as long as he's playing 20 - 25 mintues a game. Gentry is struggling right now but he'll find his stroke.
