Sup fellow Panther fans Just found a UWM-Panther fan board, been looking for one for awhile now. I've been a Panther fan for about 3 years now, and there easily my favorite college basketball team. Sadly, my older sister goes to Marquette.(  ), I've had 3 cousins graduate UW-Madison Law, and my Dad graduated UW-GB. I'm a junior in high school and love following college basketball, and come college application time, i plan on sending one to my number one choice, The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Well, i'll check the board out, but hopefully we can win the Horizon Tourney and get a NCAA bid  GO PANTHERS! |

Welcome to the board.
You are coming to Milwaukee at a very good time. The next few years are looking very bright for the program. With a year of experience under their belts for our current young players and with the talent we have coming here next year, we all expect our team to make a complete 180 degree turn around.
You should check out your local papers down there. We have two kids from Chicago Simeon coming here next year, Tim Flowers and Kevin Johnson.

Yeah, i've seen the boys from Simeon play, and there going to be good. The program has tremendous upside and we could be butler next year! |

That's great to hear. Keep in mind that you will not only be rooting for a good team, you'll also be attending a very fine university.

Haha, thanks, I plan on attending all of the home games, and i'm going to try and make some away games, like if we play at Wisc., Marq, GB and some other horizon league games.

This kid is awesome. I have to be honest, growing up, it was odd enough being the only kid in my neighborhood who knew UWM existed, let alone be an avid fan at a young age. For one to grow up in enemy territory like Illinois is friggin' phenomenal.
I guess right know we are seeing the long term effects of the tournament teams of the past few years. Kids who see this team and say, "hey, I'd like to go to UWM." The immediate surge in applications to the school was good, but now we see kids from other states growing up and enjoying UWM sports. Consider THIS a victory.
