Don't forget to mention that the game Saturday will be on ESPN. Let's show the nation that UWM's students take a back seat to no one when it comes to backing their team.

I really hope they are advertising this in the dorms, union etc.
If there's 2800 fans at this game on saturday I'm gonna be pissed.

Well if they put their minds too it they could put on an impressive showing. I can agree with that, as we've had 2,500+ students present for our HL tourney games the last 4 years, as well as many other large student showings for big regular season games. That being said, I don't think we'll have more than a few hundred in the section this Saturday, as they will not all come back at once. I wouldn't be shocked if some were sitting down, too. The word will slowly get out on campus over the last three home games that this team is much better than its record reflects, and the student section should slowly grow every remaining game.

The thing that I don't understand is students sitting in the dorms or at home watching some other teams play instead of coming down and seeing their team play for free

i think there will be a decent show of students b/c of the game being nationally televised. so far i've only seen one advertisement on campus and that was in the plaza.

To all students who are reading this thread- please prove us wrong and come out in full force- make UWM's family proud by coming in huge numbers. Tell a friend, the girl who sits in front of you who makes you miss half of lecture, tell your R.A., T.A., professor, anyone who'll listen- there's going to be a great basketball game played at the Cellular Arena on Saturday.

Was that a travel or a Horizon League pivot?

I was on campus for two classes earlier today and there are posters on the entrances to just about every entry way I saw (Bolton Hall, Business Building, Union). I also saw the big sign in the plaza and one on the Maryland overpass. If these stay up for the rest of the week, I don't think there is any reason we can't increase the size of the students section ten fold, especially if the same amount of advertising is going on at the rest of the buildings, most importantly the dorms.

Although technically it is multiplication.

if the players are looking past Detroit the way everybody else seems to be, the team is in for a rude awakening on Thursday. I'm sure the coaches will emphasize the importance of winning in Detroit to the team, I hope the message sinks in.

This is Jeter's time to shine, and perhaps this could be the true beginning of his legacy at UWM. The loss to Parkside paved the way to the dreadful 1st half. This program was ready to crash and burn, and Jeter managed to fight his way through it and gain back some lost respect. A slow sports news day along with Michael Hunt proved that. Wins at Detroit and against GB puts them at 6 - 4 in the HL, shocking the heck out of disbelievers like myself. The Panthers have a great opportunity. Is this inexperienced and undersized team up for it? Can "Coach" show that he is someone special? I guess time will tell. I really do hope so.
