I am OUTRAGED that UWGB gets to play on Wednesday this week and UWM has to play on Thursday.
A travesty and an injustice, I tell you!!!

Surely, Jeter MUST speak with the administrators of the Horizon League and complain about this tragedy!

Calihan has been a tough place for opponents for a few years now but we've been able to steal some wins there in the past few years. unfortunately i don't think our luck will continue this year.

according to statistics posted on the Titans' website - www.detroittitans.com/documents/sports/mensbasketball/18-game%20stats.HTM - Brandon Cotton has played in 18 games (he averages 33 minutes per game) and only been called for 21 personal fouls. That means he usually gets called for one foul a game, but once every six games or so, he picks up two fouls. He must really move his feet well on defense. I've never really paid too much attention to that part of his game, but I'm gong to have to take a look this week.

Calihan has been a tough place to play, but Detroit is really down this year, so maybe not so much this year.

Ok, back to tonight's game:
Avo is going have to move his feet and not get stupid reach in fouls on Cotton. Thankfully, Detroit starts 2 small guards and Hanson can match up on Bell because it was pretty obvious last game that Hanson could not stay with Wood and Cotton is just as quick. Cotton loves to go left and spin back to the right. Hopefully Avo can anticipate these moves and beat Cotton to the spot and frustrate him.
Paulsen, Messiah and Skinner are going to have there hands full with Corville. He shot poorly in the game in Milwaukee but did have 14 boards. Hayes is an up and down player, I would love to see Messiah work on him in the blocks and get him in foul trouble. Also, If Sam can bang with Corville for 5-10 minutes, this could be huge lift for the team.
This leaves the 3 spot: Franklin, Avo, Anderson or Gentry. whomever is playing this sport should be able to have a big game. Detroit is very weak at this position with Abdul-Rahim, Shuma and Everingham. Not one of these guys is a good defender and Shuma and Everingham are definitely a step slow. On Offense, both can shoot it from the outside, however, AR can not.

On Offense, both can shoot it from the outside, however, AR can not. while it's true that Al struggled to guard Wood in the first half of the WSU game, he was largely responsible for holding him to six points in the second half. If he can put that kind of effort together for a full game tonight, it will be huge no matter who he's guarding. I totally agree that the Panthers will need big games from Kevin Massiah and Marcus Skinner tonight - not necessarily big box scores, but solid games in the post without foul trouble - some points and boards, would obviously be nice as well. These two have been coming on, so again, hopefully they can continue tonight. I think UWM will have to score at least 65 to win tonight and either hold Cotton and Covile to a combined total of 30 or fewer points, or totally shut down everybody else.

Down 42-35 at half. A few costly turnovers but they're definitely still in it.

no sutton does suck, what also sux is Detroit's ability to drop threes as well as the easy pts. in the paint we've given up. hopefully both improve this next half.

Avery Smith is what kept them in that half! Other guys were solid too. Massiah, Al.
We need Ricky to step it up and Paige to get it going offensively.
On the defensive end I thought they kept Cotton contained decent enough and if they can continue that...they'll be in it at the end.
GO PANTHERS! BIG 2ND HALF!!!
