I think that they are pulling a "Blue Chips" by not jumping to block shots.

We are easily in the bottom 50. How quickly the mighty have fallen.

I'm kind of at a loss for words as to just how bad this team is. I was not expecting a winning record this season, but I just don't think this team is improving at all. I'm beginning to wonder if this team will get back to how it was in the next 3-4 seasons.

While I think everyone expected a dramatic drop off in wins this year, I don't think anyone expected it to be this tough. They just gotta keep hanging in there, and hopefully, we'll be seeing the start of more years at the top again next year. I just hope they don't make the espn.com bottom 10.

I can't argue that the team is good, but in the second half we did play about even with Sam Houston State. If we could play that way for both halves, instead of just one, we would probably be able to win at least some games. Does anyone watch the team at practice? Is there a huge dropoff from the practice shooting and the game percentage? It just seems weird that the shooting percentage is so low when most of these players came in with much higher percentages. Also, there was some spunk in the last game, although the defense still needs a lot of work. I did see some improvement, just not enough.

I can't argue that the team is good, but in the second half we did play about even with Sam Houston State. How the mighty have fallen is right. We are happy that we played even with Sam Houston St for one half. Yeah you heard me correctly Sam Houston St. This is not a dig at bigcatlover's post, it just shows how truly bad this team is.

We had our time...I think those days are gone for a long time. Jeter is not, and will never be, as good of a coach/recruiter as Bo Ryan or Bruce Pearl. Remember, this was a team that 5 years ago we (or at least I) thought would never be in the NCAA tournament. Now we are back to reality.
Jeter's line-ups are so confussing. I would think by know he'd have his 7-10 man rotation...but no. He is still clueless. He apparently has no idea how to utilize the little talent he has to it's maximum potential.
Watching Tennessee right now, tough watching Bruce Pearl and the Players that were supposed to be panthers.
I hope I am very, very wrong.

raar...man do you ever have anything positive to say about our Men's Basketball program? Bruce Pearl is gone, Bo Ryan is gone, and to bash Jeter in only his second year here, after being left with an empty cupboard is amazing to me. I love Coach Pearl, and what he did for our program as much as the next man, but he left us high and dry player-wise. There was no way Coach Jeter would have been able to keep the incoming recruits - some guys just want to play for a particular coach, and all of those guys (Waters, Douglas, and Childress) did. Coach Jeter busted his ass to go out and get players at the last minute to come here, and the chips did not fall like he would have liked. Hell give the man credit for trying...we were down to the wire with some quality recruits, and the ball just did not bounce our way.
We have a new team, full of inexperienced players at the D-1 level...of course there are going to be changes until something fits...aka a win.
Make sure you say the same sh*t you are saying now when the players we have, combined with the ones that are coming in, kick some ass next year.

I agree. Some programs like Duke and U Conn easily reload but they also have the same coaching staff year after year. They spend several years recruiting blue chippers. But even they would challenged if they lost their entire starting line up, their top two subs and nearly all their height.
RJ did not have that kind of time. But he has done well in bringing in talent. It's way too early to be making predictions about the next two or three years.

Jeter deserves no bashing. First of all, he didn't leave the school which should give him immunity from criticism for at least a year. Secondly, how could you not understand what he was thrown into? He can't just build a team from scratch in one year. How do we know what kind of recruiter he'll be? He helped get Wade to go to Marquette, which is beyond me. Maybe he wasn't a highly-scouted player because of all places to go..

UWM head coach Rob Jeter on Sam Houston's offensive weapons
"One thing looking at this team is that they have a lot of depth, a lot of guys that can play. You take a look at their leading scorers, which we did a good job of containing, but then another guy or two pops up."
Jeter on the game plan to try to keep up with SHS
"They're a good team. The plan was to do what we do. Offensively, I thought we were better (than previous games). Our shooting percentage was over 40 percent, and that's an improvement. But, obviously we didn't get it done defensively."
Jeter on his team winning stat battles like rebounding and points in the paint but still coming up short
"To me it shows we're talking about the right things and attempting to do the right things. Our number of three-point attempts has gone down. We're getting points in the paint. We're finally getting to the free throw line. But, Sam Houston State was a better team tonight. We're doing the right things. Now it's about getting some stops and continuing to inch that shooting percentage up."
