It's really difficult to predict a UWM game, because you never know if the team has made any progress, especially given how long it's been since they've played (not gonna lie... I almost forgot about their season).

I'm still blindly hoping UWM will win this one, though. Let me take a sip of that black and gold kool aid.

I was watching the Kent State/Duke game tonight and they showed the non-conf home win streak and showed Sam Houston with the second longest at 33. Either way I agree that is continues after Friday.

The will keep adding up until this team can score on a consistent basis and the defense gets some turnovers to get these guards into the transition game.

By the way I feel extremely let down by Franklins play to this point. I keep seeing and hearing how he is beat up, so if he is so beat up have him take a seat on the bench until he is healthy and able to play. Maybe some rest and watching can do him some good and it sure wont hurt the team with the way things are going for him and the team right now.

Teddy, I think you need to take another look at the team. You're right that we need to have some consistency in our scoring, but the guards do force turnovers; on the contrary, their ability to force turnovers is a cause for applause. However, they are not contesting opponents shots, an idea I've been trying to drive home in my column all season long, allowing the opponent's to shoot close to 50% from the field this season.

I agree with Jimmy, their feet seem glued to the floor far too often. Quite honestly, I'm a bit surprised its not above 50%.

I should have been more clear. The guards need to try and get more steals. The only other team in the league with less steals per game than us is Detroit. Steals are what help lead to easy baskets and is clearly what this team needs. Some more trapping in the half court could help create some of these as well as help create a more frantic pace where hopefully the other team would make some bad passes and maybe help keep the ball from getting into the post so easy which could help our guys down low who are badly undersized this year.

And I agree with the both of you. However the analogy I've used is it looks like our guys are running underwater when contesting shots. Feet glued to the floor works too though.
