Don't let troutangler's post go unnoticed:
Jeter, he writes, needs to find a back-to-the-basket post player to complement these "very talented and athletic" guards and (can everyone just call us Milwaukee?) will be back to the NCAA Tournament in no time. FYI, they are on their way.

Jeters Quotes after the game
Milwaukee coach Rob Jeter on winning the rebounding battle and getting on the offensive glass
"It's part of who we are. We work, we battle. I thought we did a good job of battling. We did some things on paper (like rebounding) that shows we were working."
Jeter on the offensive draughts
"It's something we've been trying to overcome all season. But when you play a team like Missouri State, it's not just an 8-0 run, it's 16. When we go dry, it's really all or nothing."
Jeter on moving Kevin Massiah into the starting lineup
"He's been working hard and he's earned the chance. He brings some things to the lineup and allows us to be a little bigger to start. We're just looking for combinations, and to continue to have people add things when they come off the bench."
Jeter on the play of Charlie Swiggett
"I liked that he was aggressive and took the ball to the basket. But, I also liked that he seemed to be under control the whole time. I was most impressed with that. He drove hard and stayed on his feet and kept trying to finish, even if they didn't all go in."

Is Allan Hanson still on this team? Judging by his disappearing act the past three games, that's a good question. He is having just a miserable season and nobody else has brought it up.

Jeter spent way too much time listening to Nedly Yost and his constant "battle-ing" references.

Not quite sure how we are on the way to the NCAA tournament. From what I have heard on the radio and games on tv and in person I must say that at this point in the season the team has leveled off. They had made some strides since the opening weekend of ball against Radford, WSU, and UAB, but have leveled off some. And I remember how excited everyone was with this class we had coming in and Ricky Franklin was pretty much our savior. I refuse to get excited about next year when we have problems this year that need to be cured before we can even begin to be competitive next year...the team needs to grow this year, develop, hope our two freshman from Simeon are game ready, and find some consistent scoreres other than AVO...alot needs to happen this year yet I just want to see some development out of our current players

LOL, no worries...as long as you aren't calling us Wisc-Milwaukee like ESPN does...

Heck I still get excited for each upcoming game. It's unfortunate that the team is really struggling, however I don't know of any team, school, or organization that hasn't gone through a rebuilding period especially in college. The truth is, is that not every freshman is game ready however that is the beauty of recruitign high schoolers. The room for growth for some is through the roof. WE can only hope that they reach that potential. P.S. I think when troutangler mentioned us as a tourney team, he meant in the future, and not so much this year...at least i hope so. I'm sure he sees the talent and athleticism on our team, and ya know not every player pans out. So if Ricky is struggling now it doesn't mean he also won't reach his potential, however if he doesn't, he wouldn't be the first to ever do that.

Rickey and the rest will be fine. I think they have confidence problems more than talent problems right now.

Now, if only Garry Howard would answer my next missive in the same fashion as troutangler, we'll be fine.

I meant in the future at some point. Win your league tourney and you can go this year. ;D
