I know this may not be what alot of people want to hear right now, but considering some of the early disappointment of the season...
Some of our recent 5th yr players:
Clay Tucker, Ronnie Jones
Ed Mccants, James Wright (6th yr?)
All of last years senior class
My point is the most successful players in UWM history have been seasoned vets, and all of those teams had to really battle, both on the road and often at home, it has not always been pretty. I remember Clay and Ronnie's 1st or 2nd conf. tourney at UIC, beating UWGB and then losing to Butler, those teams struggled getting open looks out of Bo's offense, and it was sometimes ugly.
I don't think it's going to take these guys 4 years to challenge for the conference title again (I think we're going to do some damage in conf), but a team that started the season with 9 career D1 starts is going to take some time.
That's my stat of the year, 9 career D1 starts, by far the least amount in D1, in a division where experience can mean everything.
There, that feels a little better
