Tenn Tech: RPI 206 (midmajority.com) Last time out; 11/22 at Mississippi L, 77-86.
I hope we can pull this one out, I hope for a full 40 min effort and solid execution from our Panthers (like the first and last 4 min of the last game). Bryant might be a load down low, I hope for a healthy and ready Sam and Marcus.
Their roster:
#1 Rivers, Belton G 6-4 180 Sr. Atlanta, GA
#2 Fisher, Anthony G 6-2 180 Jr. Alpharetta, GA #3 Smiley, Jason G 6-0 170 So. Bartlett, TN

Just want to see more improvement on everything. Last game was great first 7/8 minutes, decent to good final 5/6 minutes, and fairly ugly middle.
I'm really digging it when Thornton comes in gunning.
Maybe this should be diff. thread, but does anyone here remember Wis. SG Tim Locum? He was a skinny shooter from small town Ill. who came in his freshman year at Wis. launching, and quickly became a fan favorite. I see some similarities there.
Lastly, and I don't mind getting blasted for this, but how about nicknames for Thornton?
I thought maybe The Chillicothe Rifle( kind of generic). Anything better?

Perhaps by the end of the year, he'll be The Baby-Faced Assassin.

Wow, this game could possibly be over already. They aren't playing defense and TTU is putting together a great run.
Franklin, blah, wow, I don't see it. 5-12 from the line? What's the point of getting there if you can't make them. FG % is at 35%, 3's at a whopping 22%! TTU is 50% from the field and let's not even talk about the rebound margin...

Excellent FT shooting and rebounding!
They can't get anything together, 8th place in the HL might not be that far off, at least up to this point.

After listening to tonight's game, I can't see us better than seventh. After seeing it with my own 2 eyes, I might have to agree with you. Now, I'm not throwing in the towel or being negative or saying the season can't still be productive...BUT... ...they don't play tough enough D, they don't shoot very well from the perimeter and even have trouble capitalizing on easy 2 footers. Nothing that can't be improved on, but if they don't 7th place MIGHT be the destination. A couple of more things about tonight's game... -What happened to Avo? Looked to me like he got benched. -What happened to Ricky? He left early to mid 2nd half, sat at the end of the bench with the trainer and never returned. -Bidlingmeyer looked like he was on Charlie (and a few others) at every time-out. I loved it. We would have never seen him that animated last season. -I think having Charlie, Al, Ricky, Paige and Sam as the starting 5 makes sense. Charlie plays the point better than Al, pure and simple. And Al is better suited for the wing. Again, I think this line-up makes sense. -The guys still play hard and there is ABSOLUTELY no sign of them giving up...I'll pay to see that any day of the week.

Charlie, Avo, Al, Paige and Sam would be my best guess for starters, after seeing how each played this evening. However, trying the press might have been a better bet tonight than repeated fouls that drove up the Tennessee score. I have to reluctantly conclude that Skinner will not be the force that I had hoped; he' plays hard and shows flashes of strong potential, but he does not appear strong enough. I would have to echo, where was Avo?

We don't play tough D ahhh if you look at the Parkside game and then this game it's night and day Tenn was averaging like 85 points a game, we make mistakes on assignments Kevin does quite a bit but he grabbed 8 rebounds. Not at all related to this post I'm replying to but: I swear it really pisses me off that people post and are not even at the game. I never ever ever wanna hear "from what I heard listening to the game" I understand not everyone can make it to the game but please don't past and act like your audio intake of a basketball game will lead to a insightful assessment. I'm at EVERY game----------------the end
