THURSDAY, Nov. 9, 2006, 3:48 p.m. By Bobbi Roquemore UWM's Swiggett cleared to play
UW-Milwaukee freshman Charlie Swiggett is now eligible for college basketball, meaning he is cleared to resume practicing today and will be available Friday for the season opener against Radford.
Swiggett has missed about two weeks of action, including both exhibition games, because he was not certified as eligible by the NCAA's initial-eligibility Clearinghouse. He was missing transcripts from his sophomore and junior years of high school because the institution he attended closed.
The NCAA, a separate entity from the Clearinghouse, reviewed his case and determined that Swiggett could indeed count classes from that period toward the minimum 14 core courses needed to be declared eligible.
With the recalculation of his classes, Swiggett was finally determined to be eligible by the Clearinghouse.
Swiggett, a 6-1 guard, is expected to add even more spark to a loaded backcourt.

that news is Awesome with a capital A - can't wait to see him play after all the talk on the board about what he's going to bring to the team.

So he hasn't practiced in 2 weeks? that sucks...it's gonna take time for him to get up to speed.

I'm sure there was some type of workout for him in place. Open gyms, weights, shoot-arounds, that sort of thing. Will he pick up some minutes on Friday night already? And, does this solidify Myles to the end of the bench?

Rejoice! McDadenets50 is back... I called it months ago! The Charlie-Ricky show is about to begin. ;D Go Panthers, UWMfreak Just wanted to share the great news about Charlie. I'll be back to spread the news about the 3rd Annual D-Board meeting...you know what I'm talking about. Until then be patient with this team and stay positive. There are going to be growing pains and grumblings as the losses mount. As freak has said this is a building year. The talent in this program and on the way is outstanding. Stick with this team. See you in section 206.

with all the games the team's got in the next week, I think they're going to need all the bodies they can get, Myles included. RJ showed last year that he could rotate players in and out of the game to keep the team's legs fresh, I think we'll see a lot of that over the next few games.

Welcome back Charlie. I hope he gets some burn this weekend since I'll be in attendance, even though he hasn't been 'with' the team practicing. Excited to see him play!

With Charlie on board we are going to be able to match up with anyone at guard.
Great news!

Couldn't Swiggett practice with the team, and just not play games?

And, does this solidify Myles to the end of the bench? I have it on great authority that at practice this past week, Jeter said Myles played himself into a bigger role, and he played himself out. So no worries, everyone! And no, he couldn't even practice with the team. Had to sit out.

If Myles plays then I'm making a sign that says don't shoot, come on he brings nothing but effort and we need team players
