Was that Bob Brainard as the PA announcer? He was almost as terrible as UWM's defense! Seriously!

Yes it was Bob. In his defense, the audio tech completely overshadowed him with an impressive inability to do his job.

Yes that was in fact Bob Brainard. He wasn't that bad now was he? From the moment I heard the intro's from the concourse I said to myself, "Musta got a new announcer. He's not very good." Then I got in there and saw who it was and paid attention to him throughout the night. Maybe it was first game jitters for him, but I thought he was weak! |

Brainard did the horizon tourney last year too...the old guy quit like two days before I guess

I felt the announcer was a bit of a distraction. It always felt like he was too late and had awkward pauses (like he was looking up the names of players).

I didn't think he was bad. What was your problem with him? His delivery seemed too forced and it always seemed like he was a step behind. It wasn't a huge distraction. It didn't ruin the game or anything...I just hope he gets better. |

there was a us cellular commercial playing very soft while the game was going on. it stopped right before parkside shot 2 free throws. lets hope we dont have that same audio guy for every home game!

I think we will. I sit right by the in-house video guy and the audio guy. I think it was the halftime dance routine, after about a minute of the Pearl Jam song...just as the dance team realized it was another screw up, Jason Clark (I think) came bolting from behind yelling, "Start it again! Start it again!" I then heard him say to the audio guy, "I know you're new, but you gotta give them time to get set before you start the music." And the audio guy got chewed out by the dance team coach after the first screw up...I kind of felt bad for him. I mean who wants to get chewed out by the coach of a dance team? Not me... |
