I know everyones getting excited about our upcoming home games, but if anyone plans on going to the Northern Iowa game, I would recommend calling their ticket office TODAY at 319-273-3663 (tickets just went on sale today and WILL get sold out). I talked to LeVar and he said UWM won't be getting that many tickets because it's their first regular season home game and the opening of their new arena. I was on hold for about 15 minutes but I finally got through and got my 2 tickets. Make sure you tell them you want to sit in the UWM section!!

I'm not sure but I was told they will mainly be for the player's families and friends.

at most we would be getting around 100 tix, but it will prolly be about 50-75 and most of them will go to family and friends of the coaches and players. then IF there is and left to athletic staff and season ticket holders

Hey everyone... I come in peace. I know we both have a few games before this one comes along, but we are really looking forward to this game at UNI. It will be the first ever basketball game in the new McLeod Center (cap. 7018), and tickets will be very hard to come by. They are moving into this building after having played the past 30 seasons in the UNI-Dome, which is also home to football and track. We're excited to have an actual basketball arena, especially with the recent success of the team the past few years. Should be an outstanding game between two perennial NCAA tournament teams.

Thanks for stopping by the board...glad to have you here. Many of us are pretty excited for this game as well (at least up to this point). We have a very inexperienced team playing right now but we are hoping they start getting things together here these first few games.
I fear the game against you guys. The new arena is going to be packed and it will create a very hostile environment for our boys to play in. But it should be a very exciting game and I'm sure we'll be waiting to see the kind of ball you've been playing the last few years.

We are somewhat unexperienced as well. The past three years we relied heavily on a strong backcourt which mostly graduated last year. Our experience this year is in the post. So it is definitely a new look UNI team this year, with different strengths and weaknesses, not to mention a new coach.
fyi... our board is panthernation.com if you want to check it out. Also, valleytalk.net is the Missouri Valley board... but that's mostly reserved for whiny Wichita St. and Creighton posters. ;D

I rarely make predictions or guarantees -- but I'm calling this one now.
The Panthers WILL win this game!

This game really intrigues me. UNI is a solid MVC team with a lot of recent success, and is opening a new arena which is probably gonna be rocking.
UWM on the other hand, has had a really crappy stretch of playing a solid Washington State squad, UAB, and Michigan. I think they're starved for a win and are really going to come out gunning. They made a lot of improvements since the tournament in Milwaukee, and I think they'll have a good game.
I think the Panthers pull off the "upset" this time.
UWM 67 UNI 62

I should probably emphasize: "I think the [UWM] Panthers pull off the 'upset' this time." Oops

Very excited about today's game. Hope we give some good effort and open their building in style. Glad it's on TV. Go Panthers, more specifically, UWM Panthers.

This will be an extremely tough situation to win in, opening their new arena. UNI has a lot of experience back, too, and excellent size.
At the least, this should be another great toughening experience for our guys. The UNI arena will be packed and loud.
