We can hear all the talk and gossip in the world about Loyola, Green Bay.. etc... its all blah blah blah...
The tradition that this program has had in the past has not left, in the summer time you can see guys like Dylan Page, Nate Mielke, Adrian Tigert, Ed McCants, Joah Tucker, Boo Davis, Chris Hill, James Wright, Rob Sanders, Jose Winston, all around the gym... I can not think of a better place to be in the summer, especially for younger guys to get their feet wet than here at UWM. There isnt a place around the horizon league, or mid major schools period that could offer this type of experience.
Granted its not on the court experieince, I expect there to be a slight time period to adjust, but it wont take all year...
Loyola ha... our baby panthers will have an easier chore guarding them than the veteran players they see all the time in open gym... lets face it, loyola has gotten pounded by us year in and year out... I think you´ll see what I am saying soon!!!!
Go Panthers! We are the defending champs, and if you think that anyone will walk into the US Cellular Arena and walk out not knowing who they are facing... your crazy...
The horizon league is frightened of Milwaukee... dont think that they are not, they just have to put a new face with the past memories... they´ll remember!!!!

A chapter from the holy book of Victor E.
As Victor E wandered through the land by the lake, he sensed a troubled people. "Where is AT and Ed, and Joah," they asked. "Where is Big D, Chris and Dylan? We are doomed. We will fall to the heathens from the South and to the even less intelligent hordes from the North. The arrogance of the baby school shall wash over us and carry us out to sea."
His people were so busy moaning that they did not notice that on the hill that leads to glory, a new group of disciples was already pounding the sacred path. Victor E smiled as he watched Sam, Roman,Rickey and Charlie run up. He laughed as he saw Ryan and Marcus, Paige, Avo, Jason, and Alan run down.
At the top of the hill, were golden trophys and the holy banners won in the sacred dance. There was space for the many more that will come.
In his hand, Victor held the press clippings of the evil forces gathering to the south, the west and to the north. He looked down again at his own disciples and with a smile that bared all of his teeth, he let out a roar that shook the trees and woke up his people from the slumber. Inside of that roar they heard the words, "Let them come. Oh yes, let them come!"

I think we should all recite that after they sing the national anthem.

I have a quite confidence about this season, as I don't think it will take much in terms of talent to regain that top spot because the Horizon League has never been a league full of that much talent compared to other conferences like the Big Ten, ACC, or Big East where losing a lot of talent is going to hurt you much more. All of this coupled with Jeter's ability to coach and recruit gives me reason to believe that we are going to have a 10-6, possibly 12-4 conference record with a shot at the NCAA's. I know we are young, but Jeter can coach.

I know we are young, but Jeter can coach. I think this is a valid question, but how do you know he can coach? One good year with a senior-heavy roster? What gave you the impression that he is a great coach? I hate to rain on your parade UWM fans, because I do it often, but it's almost sickening to hear you guys repeatedly stroke your egos on this board. You had a couple good years. That doesn't mean that you are now kings of the HL and that no team can hold you down. You saw what happened to your soccer program.

Woooah Big D, Last time I checked this was our message board and why shouldn't we have discussions about our own program, and what what we think our prospectus is for the upcoming year? I never said we were kings of the HL! Why shouldn't we talk up our program on our board, isn't that the point to have these outlets for fans to have discussions. If your sick of reading our posts don't come here. I don't come to UIC's website because I could care less about what UIC's fans are talking about. In reference to your question about what makes me think Jeter can coach, simple, he took a senior laden team and got them to buy into a whole new system and style of play which is extremely hard especially when they were used to running an up-tempo system that Pearl used. The old line that say's you can't teach an old dog new tricks, well apparently Jeter can and that is a testament to his ability to get after his players and make them believe in his philosophy.

No offense guys, but I think you're high if you think we'll be 12-4 with a shot at the NCAA's. A very inexperienced team is not going to wipe through the Horizon just because they played Wisconsin and Michigan.
I think .500 will be tough to accomplish in all honesty, but I expect to see a lot of improvement as the year goes on and the team gels.

However, I did state that I thought 10-6 was attainable and POSSIBLY 12-4 if the ball bounces our way a few times. I don't think 10-6 is unattainable and I do agree Tbone that we will see improvements throughout the year. Nonconference schedule is going to be tough, however I think our overall record will improve with our conference record as the talent pool takes a plunge from our nonconference schedule to our conference. Remember, I said I have a quite confidence about the season and now I'm ranting.

Big D, Our soccer team has only one loss by more than one goal this season and three of those losses are to ranked teams! I know we're not going to win conference this year and who knows if it will be UIC, Loyola, or Green Bay, but the conference tournament is all that matters!! We've only won the past 4 conference tournaments and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament each of those years!!

STROKE OUR EGO´S!!!!!!
Let me help your angry bitter, yet unstabily incorrect ananlyzation of the Milwauke Panther Discussion Board!
1. Kings--- Nope buddy we are not kings you are correct in saying that... it´s an understatement to say we are only kings. I beleive you should refer to us as a DYNASTY... I beleive the difinition begins something like this... A succession of leaders...
Not a succession of runner up´s or preseason what if´s... Who we appoint to take the thrown will be decided by the succession of previous kings, maybe you missed the jist of the opening thread. You wanna take our crown or should we say borrow has yet to be determined, and will be fougt for, and if not this year, well guess youll find some new faces ready and motivated to take back their succesion of leadership that rightfully now belongs to Milwaukee... Welcome to our kingdom were we are crowned every year!!!!
2. Stroking our ego´s, once again poorly put, because we have won the championship not once or twice ... you know what i am saying the difference between our perspective and yours is that we expect and work and demand to win from the fans to the players and the coaches and administation. While these other programs are hoping trying to build their confidence from a pre-season poll. From others opinions and glee... well thats the start of building a program, and we understand the recipe for success and what we are up against this season, we are not searching for our confidence...
We are confident and some are insecure and unsure, it will be a battle of pride and wills this year!!! The thing we will gain from wisconsin and michigan on the road, is the adversity we will face on the road... it may take ten in may take two...
But trust me you will know you are playing the defending champs whether we have our all stars out there or the recruiting class for 2015!!!!

I hate when douche bags from other schools come on our board and get upset because were optimistic about our team. Do I think we have as good of a team or a shot at the tourny as last year, Hell no. but do u expect me to believe that the horizon league has that much talent where a perenial power cant put together a team better than seventh. R u kidding? yes are team is untested but we have talent and players will emerge. look at dominic james and wesley mathews, true freshmen making a huge impact as freshmen. Im optimisitic about this year. we have athletes and were gonna test them right away with the john thompson classic and other high level non- conference opponents. Rob Jeter knows what hes doing. Milwaukee is stepping stone for that man just like it was for pearl. If rob Jeter didnt think he could recruit high level players here and be successful with the players he recruited ( which is the true test for becoming a great coach) then he would of left for iowa state. I would be willing to bet that any other team in the HL's recruitiing class for this year and years to come will not be able to compare to milwaukee's. Let Jeter do his job he knows what hes doing

I really like our chances against the H-League.
Look,Loyola,UIC and GB are good teams, but even if we get killed by Michigan,UAB,Wisconsin,Northern Iowa, our team will have seen talent and ability far beyond what they can do this year.
Do you think Shilb,Jeffers,Evanochko, etc, will scare our guys after seeing the likes of Alando Tucker?
If our guys are competitive early in the year, that doesn't bode well for the rest of the League.Rickey,Roman and Paige have skills that are at least equal with most of the League. And I would venture to say we have the Horizon League's best coach, and coaching staff.
We may not be kings yet,but we will be.

I'm not knocking your recruits or coaches or whatever. That's not the point. The point is you have ZERO experience. Some of you tend to think that talent means everything, and I'm telling you that talent can only take you so far. To make statments like "these players have the same skills as anyone in the league" without them playing a single game just shows ignorance. There is nobody on UWM right now better than Jeffers...I guarantee it. He is going to be dominating the league this year...
And so what if you play a solid non-conference schedule. It doesn't mean that once you get to the HL, you're going to stomp the competition. Every HL team (minus UWGB of course) plays good teams in the non-confererence portion. UIC played and beat Georgia Tech at GT last year, we beat Ole Miss, we almost beat Syracuse on the road last year. Does that mean we should be competing for the HL title? Not necessarily. Conference season is much different.
Your new recruits may turn out to be great players. I just am having a hard time understanding the belief that you can possibly go 12-4 this year and take the HL championship. What was your record last year? Was it 12-4? And you're going to do just as good this year in an improved league with everybody gone?
I respect a good number of people on this board....those that are realistic and humble. Others are living in la-la land, and really don't know anything about mid-major basketball. Those of you that believe it's UWM's league to win or lose are in for a bit of a surprise this year.
