UWM games also now available on ESPN Full Court
Nov. 3, 2006
MILWAUKEE - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has set its complete 2006-07 basketball television schedule.
UWM's locally-produced television package will again air on WMLW in Milwaukee and is, by far, the largest live local television package in the Horizon League. Plus, for the first time ever, the bulk of the television package will be available nationally through ESPN's Full-Court pay-per-view package.
The full local schedule includes eight men's broadcasts and two women's broadcasts. This is in addition to the UWM men's game with UW-Green Bay that is slated for coverage on ESPN2 and the UWM's women's games Nov. 20 at Wisconsin on FSN North and Jan. 13 at UW-Green Bay on ESPNU.
The WMLW slate begins Nov. 19 when the UWM men play at Northern Iowa in the first-ever men's basketball game at the new McLeod Center in Cedar Falls. The game pits two NCAA Tournament teams from a year ago. The early-season men's schedule also includes the Dec. 2 game at Oakland, the Dec. 13 contest at Wisconsin and the Dec. 22 game at Sam Houston State. The TV schedule then includes Horizon League contests at Youngstown State (Jan. 13), Detroit (Jan. 25), Wright State (Feb. 5) and UW-Green Bay (Feb. 24). The two women's games in the package are the Dec. 7 game with Air Force and the Feb. 1 contest with Detroit.
Daron Sutton, who was recently named the television voice of the Arizona Diamondbacks, and Jason Clark return as the television broadcast team for UWM basketball. Ryan Nolan and Chris Francis of CBS-58 will share hosting duties for the Tipoff Show, which preceeds each broadcast on WMLW.
UWM's agreement with Weigel Broadcasts also includes the return to the Rob Jeter Show and the Sandy Botham Show to the airwaves. Jeter's show will air on Sunday nights on CBS-58, while Botham's show will air Saturday mornings on WMLW.
