I just want to say, you guys rule. Buying season tickets to UWM basketball is a damn good investment. I can't wait to join your ranks after I graduate...that is, to say if I am not the beat writer for UWM basketball. Man, you guys would go ape if I was hired to be on the UWM beat.

Many of the MU season ticket holders have had the tickets for years, if not generations. Many of the fans have followed the program for most of their lives. A large number of them are also likely corporate owned seats.
UWM is just beginning to become an attraction in this city. Things like long time season ticket holders and corporate owners do not happen overnight.
What is true is that the numbers of season tickets has risen each season, and I believe now exceed the capacity of the Klotsche Center itself.
After 5 short years, the fan base has grown quite well.
For example, it used to be that you could not find merchandise anywhere other than the Bookstore. Now it is found at national chain stores in the local market, which is more telling than some may realize.
We do not have the marketing support of a Nike (as does MU), and therefore our merchandise is there almost solely due to demand.
You also see much more of the Panther merchandise on people throughout the city.
Small steps, but very important ones.

You dont have to graduate to buy season tickets. I bought 2 tickets last year while i was still a student. It was nice not to have to get there extra early to get a seat, i could just walk in while the national anthem is playing and sit in my comfortable seat. I am getting excited for the season to start. Especially since the first time i get to see this team i get to seem them on consecutive days at the Tournament. Section 206 baby!

did everybody read the "Guidebook for Boosters, Sponsors and Fans of UWM Athletics" that was enclosed with the ticket mailing?
I thought it was a good idea to send this along.
Maybe someone with more expertise than me can shed some light on a question (not that it applies to me, just wondering) - on page three of the guidebook, it says you are considered a representative of UWM's athletic interests if you are the parent of an enrolled student athlete (among others) and on page six, there's a list of thou shalt nots for contacts between representatives of UWM's athletic interests and current student athletes that I wouldn't think could possibly all apply to the parents, but there's no exception listed that I see. These rules don't really apply to the parents of student athletes do they? I'd find that very hard to believe.
For instance, I can see how it makes sense for me not to be able to buy kids electronics, clothes, shoes, event tickets and food, but their parents can, can't they? That would be insane.
Anyway, I always love it when the tickets come, it's great to see that big fat envelope and know that it's all about to get started again.
Great move getting seats last year jvaldon, that's one season closer to the front row!

I got mine yesterday. I didn't read the book but I don't think they mean you can't buy stuff for your own kid. I suggest contacting them for any clarification you might need.

It would be rediculous to not be able to provide for your own kid. The bottom line is that you're not supposed to give an athlete anything that isn't available to all students.

If an establishment is giving away free goods or services, then it's O.K. because it's free for everybody.
