Here's the draft order:
1 Kroener -- ALANDO TUCKER 2 uwmfutbol -- DOMINIC JAMES 3 Kingsbury -- KAMMRON TAYLOR 4 Jimmy Lemke -- BRIAN BUTCH 5 milwsport -- JEREL MCNEAL 6 jgpanthers -- TERRY EVANS 7 BB Fran -- GREG STIEMSMA 8 reggiewheelerfor3 -- MARCUS LANDRY 9 dylanrocks -- RICKY FRANKLIN 10 pantherholic -- PAIGE PAULSEN 11 teddyp00 -- WESLEY MATTHEWS 12 kroener -- RYAN EVANOCHKO 13 kingsbury -- DAN FITZGERALD
11 - 13 are still open, so if you want to participate, just say so in the other thread and I'll modify this post to show the updated draft order. If we don't get enough signups, we'll go back to the start of the list.
Remember, pick ONE player from the state's four D1 teams. We're trying to make a team here, so draft accordingly. Provide a short explanation/justificationj for your selection.
And I accept the proposed modification that requires that at least two players from each state team be selected, so bear that in mind.
Kroener -- you're on the clock with the first selection.

The dreaded 3rd pick. The first 2 picks were no-brainers, this one is a little harder. This is one of the hardest things I have ever had to type, since people who know me, know I hate this guy and think he is vastly overrated. With a PG on board already, I will pick Kam Taylor. Since he doesn't have to handle the ball Kam can swing over to his natural off guard position. With the pressure off of Kam to run the O, he should flourish with his scorers mentality.

This is really tough to choose.
I think, when it comes to college basketball, few things are more important than size. I will take Brian Butch, because he would be a great anchor for this basketball team.

Jerel Mc Neal.
He was on the Big East All Rookie team last year. Third in scoring for MU, second in rebounds and first in steals. And he did all that as a freshman.

The obvious choice here would probably be to go with Wes Matthews...but I know somebody else is gonna take Wes. So, I'm gonna go out on a limb here because this guy is by no means the 6th best player, but I think he fills a spot on this team with his athleticism and defensive prowess. Plus , he has decent size and he can throw down when you give him the chance. I pick Terry Evans from UWGB. I know this sounds a little far-fetched, but I almost picked Aswan Minatee here because of his tremendous energy. He can rebound with guys 5 inches taller than him and pick up the trash under the board...but i'll stick with Evans

You guys have made it too easy for me. Gotta go with the aircraft carrier -- Greg Stiemsma. He has the ability to control the paint defensively and change the other guy's gameplan.

BBFran, you took my pick Well, with three of the last six spots being set aside for UWM and UWGB guys, this makes it a little bit tougher. There are going to be a couple really good players left off this team. At the risk of predicting what may happen down the road, I'm going to pass on one obvious selection (I think many of you know who), pass on a true 4 man and take SF/PF in Marcus Landry. I think we need more size on the team, but again, I'm just trying to guess what's going to happen with the remaining picks. Besides, I don't think too many will argue with Landry being on this team. When he and Stiemsma had their issues last year, the Badgers fell apart.

This is perhaps the biggest no-brainer since D.J. was chosen. This team is sorely lacking a backup point guard and Ricky Franklin perfectly fits the bill. He's a big guard who is ideally suited to play the offense that this team would have to run. You might say that he's an unproven commodity, but so is Stiemsma to a degree. Nonetheless, that wouldn't prevent me from picking him for his size. As for Franklin, he's a big guard (6-2, 220) who can bang down low, hit the three-point shot, run the court and defend on the perimeter and in the post. Two seasons ago, he lifted Milwaukee Riverside to its best City Conference finish in 31 years by averaging 20 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. In short, he gives the team tremendous versatility with his ability to play multiple positions and score from everywhere.

well in accordance to the rules of this draft, i'll be filling a mandatory quota. after sleeping on it this pick was actually more difficult than originally thought. however in the end i'm sticking to my guns. Paige Paulsen. Though Schachtner is VERY tempting here, Paige will play very well at either position. he may not have ideal weight but he's got talent and d1 experience, which is a rare commodity for this year's squad. i won't be surprised if he ends up the 2nd best player on the team.

Okay -- teddy's up next. After teddy, the first two who want to make a selection, whether or not you have selected already, can finish out the squad. Remember we need one more Phoenix player.

I almost can't believe that Wes Matthews is still not picked. He has decent size at 6-5 and is very athletic. Also appears to be a great team player. Could be a defensive leader for this team and should have a break out year if he stays healthy all year.
Note: I almost wanted to take Gentry but since I have seen Wes play and not Gentry I went with that as my deciding factor.

Well back to me again....I am thinking of a big man but with Stiemsma and Butch gone I dont think it would make a hill of beans right now so I am going with a guard..so I shall take Ryan Evanoshko from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay

I'll jump in and take the final spot if nobody minds. This team needs a guy who can shoot, So I would pick Dan Fitzgerald from Marquette with the 13th pick. At this point a guy who is a legitimate threat from down town is more of a need than a run of the mill big body.
