I know Midnight Madness hasn't even begun, but I get excited before the start of the season and purchased two tickets for the game this morning. Just seeing who else either had tickets or was planning on going. Sorry if I'm being way too premature on this issue.

$50 to sit in the upper deck in the corner.
Little to rich for my blood. Think I'll watch it on TV.

$50 to sit in the upper deck in the corner. Little to rich for my blood. Think I'll watch it on TV. No need. I've gone to every one since '01 (sans last seasons), driving to Madison w/o a ticket in my hand. There are literally dozens of people outside selling what must amount to hundreds of tickets, at face value or LESS, right up until tip time. We arrive about an hour early, and we're always sitting comfortable in our seats 20 min's before tip. Paid less than face value almost every year, too, and they usually have plenty together in the same row. Just make sure they don't try to sell you student section tix, though. And they will try.

Does that really work? I 've always heard about people buying before a game, but I'm so damn anal retentive that if I don't already have a ticket in my hand I feel like I won't have a shot at any decent tix.

I may try that this year. Wish I would have been there last year, but didn't work out. How can I tell if it's the student section? What section is that?

Jesse, The student section tickets have STUDENT SECTION in bold on the top. At least they did last year. I don't know why it would be a problem having student section tickets, I went to the Illinois game last year on my friend Kyle's ticket. You look like a student, so you should be fine. Just come wearing something red and take it off once you're in

Yep, it really does work, and there's ALWAYS been tickets left unsold outside the Kohl center. Every time. And the student section tix do say it right on them. They scalpers won't tell you, they'll just say that they're the cheapest ones they've got that are all in the same section/row. And even though it's no problem getting into the student section, I just figured those of us that are on this board would prefer NOT to watch the game from there.

Haha, I liked getting "Asshole" chanted at me last year whenever I started clapping at the UWGB game. Sitting in the opposing student section draws them away from the game.

I actually think it says The Grateful Red and not student section above it

Kroener, we're talking about the tickets. I have my stub from last year's Illinois game(loss, bullsh*t) and it says on a red border "STUDENT SECTION."
Yes, the section itself in the arena has GRATEFUL RED above it.

ahhh yes then now I follow....btw if u want good seats in the lower bowl wait 10 minutes to game time and you will get tickets no problem....for whatever reason tickets seem to really fall into scalpers hands for basketball games...and it is evident with the many open seats...I said it last year and I will say it again..go without tickets there are upwards of 1,000 tickets available on the street before the game...that would be my guess..but the corners are never full for the game
