I want Tennessee...
Not only would it be great to see Bruce again, but I want our young guys going into a game where they have no chance,to see how they respond.

I say other, but I don't know who it will be. It won't be any of the ones mentioned, their schedules are set.

Here are my speculations for this seasons starting line-up. These were selected because I believe it gives the best balance between experience and talent. If any of these guys are not team players or have a "me" attitude they need to be replaced until attitude adjustments are made. Hopefully that will not be a problem.
Andersen Holt Young Paulsen Mauldin

Cub, Tyrone, as much as we love him, probably will not break the starting lineup.

really don't see why we'd want to play any of these teams on the road, we might as well just forfeit the inevitable loss.
my guess is Colorado State.

I'd like to see Tenn. simply b/c it'd be fun to watch Pearl sweat on the sideline. Although against an opponent of UWM's ranking/etc., I doubt he'd sweat that much.
Also, panthercub...Holt in the starting line-up?

I say other, but I don't know who it will be. It won't be any of the ones mentioned, their schedules are set. Sorry for the confusion. This is for who you want the Panthers to play the most. I also doubt it will really be any of these teams.

really don't see why we'd want to play any of these teams on the road, we might as well just forfeit the inevitable loss. my guess is Colorado State. We would play them because they would pay us a LOT of money. Example: Tennessee averaged about 20,000 in attendance last year. At an average ticket cost of $20 (estimated), that's revenue of $400,000 per home game. If it's late in the year (read: September or later) and they have a date they need to fill, it is very likely that these teams will pay us in the neighborhood of $100k to come and play a game. That's a LOT of walking around money, folks.

Also, I think it's a great chance for our guys to get into another hostile road situation. For a young team, I think experiences like that can really help when the HL games begin in earnest.
EDIT: BTW, I would like to see us play Tennessee or WV. Marquette would be fun, but it seems likely that we are not going to come to an agreement with them.

I as said in another thread lets go for some big pay days because I think that it our program could really use it to grow the athletics as a whole over the next few years. If playing Tenn. means a possible check of 100k I see no reason to not play the game. That game could draw some national attention as well. Heck, if the game does not on its own Pearl very well could work some of his media magic (others may call it other things) and get some attention for both his program and ours.
With that said I have no problem with a WV game either. Playing big schools in their house with our young team should help them grow up quickly. I just hope that a big blow out or two does not crush them for the season, but I think Jeter is not a guy that would let a bad loss sink the ship.
