If I wanted the concentration to be on the player then I would have mentioned his name....so I can see why u think there is no point, because you are not getting it |

...so when will one of us on the board be offering that extra scholarship? Oh yeah, that too comes from the coaches. I guess knowing about the extra scholarship allows all of you to speculate on who's in and who is out....

It allows the rest of us to know that the coaches could bring in one more of our recruiting targets such as a Paul Guede who may not have been in the top 2-3 for the scholarships we have to give.

I agree completely. While I do respect that players deserve some privacy the reason I use the board is because it is supposed to be my inside into the UWM Basketball family. If you know something but don't feel like you can or want to share the whole thing, THEN DON"T MENTION IT AT ALL!!! It's like someone telling you that they have a secret but they can't tell you. Jeter doesn't read this board so who cares what is mentioned on it. If alumni read this board and they are not happy with what is said on it what are they going to do cut funding. I don't think so.

oh golly if the media got note of the nobody that uwm cut, they'd just have a field day with it. i'd say it would be non-stop wall-to-wall coverage 24/7. i guarantee you they won't even mention it in the JS.

I am sorry for telling you all what I can, but get over yourselves, some things are best left unf**king said dude settle down, i don't think u need to go off like that at all......cool for you if your a buddy of some of the guys on the team, but i think what people are trying to say is that being that this is a touchy situation that if you really felt that it would be best not to mention who the player is, which you do have the right to do it, then maybe it might have been one of those things that need not be brought up until the team and/or department felt it was proper to inform the public........i also understnad that people use this board as their little window into the inner working of the team, but i think as soem have stated, it isn't that anyone is jealous of you because you are tight with the guys on the team, but being the type of situation, with either a player leaving or getting let go, it might not have been your place to come out and say anything here....like i said this is a difficult and touchy sistuation because we don't know the circumstnaces and i guess my point is that if there is something that the team and/or department is willing to share with us publicly in these circumstances then it might not be best for us to sit around and talk about it...... |

I know the intention here was to give us what information we could have without hurting anyone in the process.
But I think that sometimes things like this lead to speculation that can hurt others. ie "I bet it's so and so, because he's mad he didn't play more." or "That guy has bad grades, so it's probably him." or "I bet it's it him because he hasn't been improving and RJ is sick of it."
The point is that when you begin a sentence and you don't finish it, people are liable to speculate as to what the ending of that sentence is.
I would suggest closing this thread before that begins to happen.
