In an effort to change some of the recent threads that were ripping either Coach Jeter, Bill Johnson, the moderators and/or one another...I thought I'd take a brief look back on the historical 2005-2006 UWM season.
If you're feeling like it, let's hear(or read) your Top 5 moments from the '05-'06 season.
They can be specific plays that stand out for one reason or another, they can be certain games, certain players becoming more active in the rotation, anything that you felt was important to the significance of this past season.
To get things started...here are my 5 in no particular order....
* Chris Hill's winning shot over Detroit at Calihan Hall.
* The alley-oop dunk by Boo Davis in the final regular season home game.
* The alley-oop dunk by Joah Tucker in the 1st round game against Oklahoma.
* Being seeded 11 in the third NCAA tournament in 4 years.
* The win over Oklahoma in the 1st round of the NCAA tournament.
Again, these are in no particular order, just the 5 plays or moments that stand out to me at this point.
Believe me, much like all of us, I could name a lot more...

that game against (last game of the season) detroit in the second half was my highlight of the year. I was unbelievably impressed. no question in my mind that night they could have run with anyone in the nation. that was one of the most impressive showings ive seen. and D-Ford had himself a hell of a game too.

Yea there were a bunch. I enjoyed the OU win. Seeing D-Ford turn it on over the last 5 games was another personal fav. of mine. Not to mention cruising through the two games of the conference tourney.

The biggest things to happen to the program this season are in my opinion:
*Another Regular Season Conference Title
*Another Conference Tournament Title
*Beating a Big 12 school in the NCAA's
*Beating a Big 12 school after the NCAA's
*Keeping Jeter and giving him a fat bump with the help of some serious booster(s).
*Finally acting like a big time program

*Beating a Big 12 school after the NCAA's Oooooh! I had to think about that one for a split second. I couldn't agree more with your post. As I say in my initial thread...a historical season!!!

Nothing solid or factual, but the money had to come from somewhere to pay Robbie.
There are at least 4 high powered CEO type who are UWM alumni in the Milwaukee area, that I can think of.
Marquette isn't the only school in town that can "pull the wool" as it were.

I believe it was reported somewhere that the 'sweetners' to Jeter's contract would be aided by donors.

I believe it was reported somewhere that the 'sweetners' to Jeter's contract would be aided by donors. I believe you're correct. Most likely the same donors that never got a chance to keep BP around at the end of last season.

Most likely the same donors that never got a chance to keep BP around at the end of last season. "I don't want to talk about contract specifics at this time because we're still discussing amounts and donor sources," Haidet said. "I can tell you that Coach Jeter's contract will be extended through 2013."www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=409921
