I don't mind editing or deleting offensive posts and threads that are INTENDED to insult or threaten someone. I do mind locking threads up. Editing and deleting things should only be done under extreme circumstances. With the exception of a few very insulting posts those circumstances did not exist.
What Bill Johnson said was directed at the posters on this board. Everyone should have a chance to respond to it. Same goes for the MU guy who posted his stuff this morning. Locking those threads deprives people of a chance to do that.
Threads shouldn't be deleted or locked just because a moderator decides they serve no purpose or is tired of the discussion. That's like saying, "thanks for taking the time to drop by but we're not really interested in what you have to say."

I am offended by Johnson's remarks. Pretty funny coming from the guy who wrote the following back on January 9th. " He is a broadcaster calling it as he sees it. There's nothing wrong with that and it keeps the broadcasts entertaining.
If the Butler Broadcasters takes shots at our players I might disagree with him and say so, but I'm not going to mad over his saying it. Maybe that's the difference here.
The Butler guys aren't denying what Johnson said was true, they are just mad that he said it. Apparently they think it's okay to whine, it's just not okay for anyone to point out that you're doing it." So you're not mad or whining, just offended, right? Todd

So what if what MBB does does not affect our livelyhood. Is it wrong to care?
Bill Johnson got to call it as he saw it, but because some of us brought up what we vell are valid points in response we get our thread locked?
Come on Lou...that's garbage and you know it.

Todd There's a big difference between saying you're offended and responding to someone and claiming they had no right to say it (which was the issue with the Butler game) The principle is actually the same here. Let people speak their minds whether its BJ on a broadcast or people on message board. If I think they're whining I will say so and if they think I am they can say so too. But I'm glad to see that you follow my posts so closely.

There's a big difference between saying you're offended and responding to someone and claiming they had no right to say it (which was the issue with the Butler game) Your above post didn't raise any objection to someone claiming Bill Johnson didn't have a right to say something. You commented on Butler fans whining and getting mad. Is there a distincition between those things and being offended? I happened to see your post in this thread and seemed to remember you defending Bill Johnson in the previous thread as "calling them as he sees them". If you couldn't blame the guy then, I don't see how you can now, just because he's now talking about you and not some opposing player. Todd

I know that The season is over so none of us can talk about upcoming games anymore
there isnt much interest right now in adding something usefull about recruiting,
we dont have any opponents to make fun of, some here tried flaming Bill Johnson (who is as loyal a panther fan as it gets) and that got shot down, Rob isnt leaving so there is no reason to give him the buisness anymore...
I geuss ragging on us moderators for trying to do our jobs is what this board has come to. Jobs that we do just becuase we love this program and enjoy talking about it.
I would delete some of the posts on this thread because they have NOTHING TO DO WITH MILWAUKEE PANTHER BASKETBALL, but i dont want to add any fuel to the fire.
If you dont like what i just said feel free to PM me and complain direcly to me about my actions rather than contiuin to fill the board with nothingness....actually...isnt that what this post truly is?

No, it's about this board being UIC board II. FWIW, I wasn't referring to the threads you deleted earlier this morning. I was making a reference to the threads that were locked after the moderator who locked them got their digs in as an "opinion" but stated that everyone else was whining or b****ing. Hypocrite for real.

Since that's what this is all about.... I deleted my response on that thread and added the crux of my point here. Now you can attack me and tell me I am all wrong, etc., etc., etc.
No one has a right to vilify Rob Jeter simply because he showed INTEREST in another coaching position. He did not seek out a position, and he did not accept a position, so why were so many posters on this board so quick to show utter contempt for the man?
Yes, we are fans, and yes, we have a rooting interest, and YES, IT MEANS SOMETHING TO US. But here's a reality check people:
The success (or failure) or UWM Basketball will not have any effect upon your livelihood.
No one owes you a thing. Accept it.

No, it's about this board being UIC board II. When was the last time you were at the UIC board...if anything the UIC board is UWM board II....like I said, there is far more editing/deleting/locking going on here. Care to try and prove me wrong?

It was a haha funny in reference to some people on this board talking about how much the UIC board is edited, or might be edited. I don't want to prove you wrong because I could honestly care less. P,.S. I was on the UIC board today.

That post was exactly that. It was about Butler fans whining and getting mad over what BJ said during a broadcast and claiming he had no right to talk about their players in the way that he did.

Moderators just need to quit letting "the power" go to their heads...this is complete nonsense. It's a D-board...let it go. The only time something should be deleted is if it's complete spam truley stabs hard or is graphic in nature.
To say that because it doesn't have anything to do with UWM Panthers it doesn't belong here is complete B.S. as well. We do have an "Off the Court" section after all...so just relocate it.
We can sit here and complain about the refs...but uh oh...what if they hop onto the UWM board. Will they really screw us over next time because we offended them?
Seriously...I've been hanging around this board since its first day and haven't seen this much pointless bickering and censorship before...stay united guys.
