Let's see how many threads can be closed in the next few days? Let's see how many mods can get in their last few words before posting the words "THREAD CLOSED." Lame...
If Bill Johnson has a valid point, so do fans on this message board. Their opinions are worth just as much if not more than bandwagon mcgee.
Let's see how long it takes this thread to be locked or deleted.
P.S. I'm not taking into account the threads that were deleted because people were pissy at Jete Jete.
Discuss...

I have seen far more editing and locking going on over here than the UIC board has ever done....even before these Bill Johnson posts...

That tread had no purpose other than people b****ing that someone had an opinion that differed from their own.
We have 15 threads ALL talking about the same thing here. I think there is plenty of opportunity for a reasonable DISCUSSION to break out on any of the other threads.

That tread had no purpose other than people b****ing that someone had an opinion that differed from their own. Isn't that what BJ did? And waking up this morning my reaction was: Are you frucking kidding me?

That tread had no purpose other than people complaining (ed) that someone had an opinion that differed from their own. I thought that's part of the reason we are all here. Unfortunately none of us have anything BUT this forum to retort to Bill Johnson's attacks on us. He has the bullhorn, and we have the board. I disagree with his characterizations of us as a**holes. What I was part of, and witnessed, was a huge outpouring of frustration and concern about the direction of the program. It also served as a place to receive group support in a troubling time for many of us. I can say my wife really prefers if I vent on the board, and not in the living room.

I am offended by Johnson's remarks. If Jeter hadn't told the JS that he was interviewed and was "waiting for ISU to back to me," it would have been much easier to dismiss the posts on the ISU official fan board and the other board as well.
We all realize that we're a mid-major and can lose our coach, but no one expected someone like RJ to leave with the cupboard bare and not enough recruits to fill the holes. Of course people are going to be upset over that.
None of that justifies some of the comments that were made, but the overwhelming majority of the comments were about disappointment and the bad effect this would have on our program. I think I saw maybe two or three that were in the name calling catagory. Although one of those was so offensive I wished I had the power to edit it.
But to paint everyone on this board with the same brush is just plain wrong.

That tread had no purpose other than people b****ing that someone had an opinion that differed from their own. Essentially the same thing you did by "b****ing" at the other people on this board because they had a different opinion than you which seems to align with BJ's? Classic...nothing against you at all but me just no understand!

This is a disussion. You disagee with me, I disagee with you. You make your points, I make my points. At some time we either:
a. agree b. agree to disagree c. find something else to agree or disagree about
The thread in question was in no way a discussion. It was a complete b**** and whine session.
I suppose I could have started a NEW thread to make my opinion known, but I felt that it wasn't needed.

So if it's our opinion it's a gripe or a whine but if it's you, it's just an opinion?
Sweet....

A thread shouldn't be deleted ever unless is something completely volitale. If someone wants to whine, let them. We let people priase on the board, but we don't let people express the opposite of that? This sounds eerily familiar to a certain method of governing something..... hmmmmm

There is a big difference between deleting a thread and locking it.

I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in here, since I thought that's what this board is for....
If Coach Jeter and/or his staff have time to read the threads, they should be able to see everything. The good, the bad, the ugly. The supportive, the critical and the in-between.
No matter what level you're coaching at...there are always going to be critics. I'm sure most coaches are aware of that and wouldn't let the critics bring them down too much and wouldn't let the people blowing smoke get them to full of themselves.
If guys like Bill Johnson want to read the threads and make comments on the radio show, I say let them! 1510's signal is so weak, I doubt they are that many people listening anyway.
Coaches and players rarely let what the media thinks effect them and how they go about their business. I would think they'd feel the same way about discussion boards and discussion board members.

The threads I deletes this morning were not something i would have wanted anyone to see who didnt see last night. I'll give my reasoning for deleting them, not that you have to accept it..
5 stages of coach grieving - my thread, i decided to delete because it was useless
Jeter's Replacement thread - That should be self explanitory. i felt that every post on there was a direct slap in the face to Rob now that he is staying.
The other two were threads with 2-3 responces that were about jeter being a snake and giving up on UWM basketball.
I felt justified in everything i did. I was trying to censory anyone in paticular. I just figured a little of the junk spewed out while everyone was overrecting last night could be cleaned up. I didnt delete any large or long threads. I really dont care if you agree with what i did. I wasnt trying to stop anyone from saying anything in paticular. those threads just didnt have a place here anymore. i dont see any different between deleting a jeter replacement thread or deleting another UWM-MU thread. both are useless and not needed.
- jvk
again i didnt delete much at all. the bulk of it is still there for everone to look at. just check out the breaking news thread

bball30, I believe you were referring to totalitarianism.
