Jeter interviews with Iowa State
UW-Milwaukee men's basketball coach Rob Jeter interviewed Monday for the Iowa State opening, he confirmed Monday night.

Jeter interviewed with Iowa State athletic director Jamie Pollard, a former deputy athletics director at Wisconsin.

"I'm just waiting to hear back from them," Jeter said. "It's something that it looks like they want to move fairly quickly."

Jeter, in his first year with the Panthers, is one of two highly-placed candidates for the position. The other is Northern Iowa coach Greg McDermott.

"Obviously they knew who they wanted to speak to," Jeter said. "I'm not in the business of hiring coaches, but they did it quickly."

Jeter's successful first year with the Panthers - UWM went 22-9, won the Horizon League regular-season and tournament titles and reached the second round of the NCAA tournament - and his connection to Pollard from their time at Wisconsin have linked his name to the position ever since it became open Friday when Wayne Morgan was dismissed.

Pollard administered the men's basketball program when Jeter worked there as a Badgers assistant coach.

I am a little surprised that all that was confirmed was the interview, which was public knowlege and that he appears to be waiting to hear from them.

I'll tell you what though, if Jete Jete does leave I will send him no well wishes. I hope this blows up in his face and the AD's face. Risky move for the IA State AD if you ask me.

With his wife's cancer it's doubtul that he leaves, but nothing is certain. The pay would be nice as it sounds like he makes poo poo. We should pick him up, lol.
