Not what I am saying, but rather the virtues bestowed upon our team from a blogger over at CNN Sports Illustrated. While many of the fans posting reaction agree that OU was an overrated team whom UWM should have beat, many think that another win or two could solidify UWM as one of the top Mid-Major programs. Now the true factor on if this is the case is how well Jeter & Co. can respond next year when they lose all of their NCAA studs.
Could be an interesting debate though?

Nice win today...
With that being said, let's wait to see what happens next year before people start calling you the next Gonzaga....they've been winning for a long time...

We will be a lot better next year than some people think. (especially that GB guy who picks us to finish last in the HL)

Next year is going to be fun. No pressure... no one in the world expects us to take the conference again.
With that said, I actually like the makeup of the team next year if we get the guys that I hear we're getting.

Funny thing about the Zags...they usually did well in the tourney until they were labeled as a non-mid-major. They really have underperformed in the tourney the last few years IMO. Why would we want to be the next Gonzaga when we could be the first Milwaukee? T

That reminds me of the ESPN Headline online: "Who will be the next UWM? Could it be UWM?" Hell yes people.

Speaking of Gonzaga is anyone watching Morrison and Cage from Xavier going at it? They are banging and talking trash all game.
I don't want to be the next Gonzaga but automatically the comparisons will come and I hope that UWM can build a year in year out program that consistantly competes w/the bigs and UWM is doing good so far but let UWM have it's own idenity. What the Zags have done is great for the Zags what the Panthers are doing is better, against better competition as far as conference play is concerned IMO.

Comparing us to Gonzaga is a compliment. It's alot better than being compared to Valpo or Youngstown State.
What they are saying is that this program is on the verge of going from being a mid-major to being one of the best in the nation.
