To the sooners who have posted here, thank you. ABAsooner, nickzepp and bill, might be others and I'm sorry if I left you out.
You are true fans of your team. Thanks for being classy while being on our board and please return in the future. We'd be happy to have you around.

I'm gonna start rooting for OU in basketball.
I still can't stand their football team though...

Not all of them. Just paid a visit to their board. According to the VAST majority of posts:
1) The Coach should be fired 2) The players didn't try 3) The refs cost them the game 4) We're making crappy shots that we'd never hit 99% of the time 5) Tucker got away with murder 6) There's NO reason why our press should work etc. 7) Their big scorer is one dimensional 8) Their big guy in the post never makes baskets when it counts 10) They are letting us win because they don't care 11) They can't play defense and never could
There's 24 pages of it, almost 500 messages in all and 95% ripping their team.
Yes the ones who were here were very nice and I now understand what they were saying about how many other fans are. It's so bad that if I was being recruited by OU, I'd go elsewhere.

There was a bar in Pacifica that had the game on. I was going to go to Fizzies on Lombard but they have a strong hatred for anything Wisconsin so I didn't think they'd have the game on.
Where did you end up?

I will second, thrid, and fourth that Hack, Oklahoma basketball fans are truly a class act I'll 5th that thought. To the OU fans who visited the board...thank you. I wish there were more fans, especially in our Horizon League, that were as knowledgable and classy as you all were. Visiting-team posts tend to consist of a lot of UWM-Joah Tucker-Rob Jeter bashing, and other useless rants, but you guys were respectful, yet clearly proud of your team.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. Congrats on your win today!!! You deserved it. The Panthers came to play and OU didn't. Simple as that!
I was impressed with your team. They play solid defense, make good decisions and get the job done at the free throw line. I think you've got the type of team that could make a deeper run in the tourney if your shots continue to fall and your players maintain their poise the way they did today.
I have enjoyed my visits to your board. My compliments on being one of the nicer group of fans I have come in contact with on an Internet fan board.
Best of luck the rest of the way!!!

You're welcome. I made a post on your board in the Congrats for a great season thread. Tried to help you real fans out against all those boo birds. Hope it helps.
BTW some people seemed not to believe that a UWM fan would congratulate them

Thanks for the support, milwsport! I doubt if it will do much good because you can't reason with the naysayers who only show up when there's a reason to complain. They'll be gone in a few days and the board will be back to normal again.
When things cool down, drop by when you can and take part in our discussions. We really do have some knowledgeable hoops fans on ouinsider, although it may not appear that way right now.
Take care, and good luck the rest of the way!!

Thanks guys I appreciate the props. Our board is kinda out control right now but that is what happens when you are pre-season top 5 and get bounced in the first round. It is not so much that we expected to win today, because we had lost 2 in a row coming into this game and before than won 4 straight 1 pt games, so it is not like we have been playing up to our ability lately.
We just seem to be one of these teams this year that look good on paper but never really put it together to reach expectations/potential outside of when we smacked Texas in Norman and maybe 1 or 2 other games or parts of some games.
Everett was awesome today and Bookout was great in the 1st half and Gray played alright in the 2nd half until he fouled out, but Neal was just shut down and never looked to shot fake or score off the dribble all day, he seemed really frustrated. Godbold played well but outside of that we were pathetic, but mostly because UWM is a good team.
We had the pieces, but something was missing for a great team this year. We lose alot, but we have some big time recruits coming in next year, at least 2 that should be starters from day 1, Scottie Reynolds and Damion James. Reynolds is a MCDAA PG from Virginia and James is a 6-8 SF from Texas, ranked in everyones top 20 nationally. We need both of them to be impact players right away. We need Taylor Griffin to step up and I think he will, he was good this year when he got extended minutes but Sampson does not like to rest Bookout and Gray, Longar has potential too, but we are trying to sign an impact juco big man in the late period. Mike Neal should be really good next year and Carter, Godbold, and Johnson can get better and have experience. We lost our defensive identity this year, we really have not had it since Hollis Price left, not sure why, but we just dont play Sooner defense anymore.
You guys have alot of talent, Tucker and Davis are the goods and you will give Florida some problems.
Thanks for being good hosts and good luck tomorrow!
