Sidenote on the Hornets. I love how the OKC fans act during those games, like it's a college game. It's like Oklahoma has no idea how to act during a pro sports regular season game (basically like you're at a tennis match), so they actually show enthusiasm because it's all they know.
I hope they get an NBA team in the near future.

Actually I think the Hornets will end up staying in OKC. Shinn was looking to move them in the first place and I think he and Stern are just trying to be politically correct for now because it is a touchy situation. They are already in OKC next year and the franchise has improved so much just in one year they would be crazy not to keep them here. They are starting to struggle now but they were playing out of their minds. I think OKC will continue to support them as long as they build around Chris Paul.

If you lose to us your fair weather fans will be hollowing mightly about being taken out by a school with a hyphen in its name (something that would NEVER happen in FB mind you). Milwsport, you have no idea what OU's basketball board would be like if we lose to UMW. The regulars who spend a lot of time on the board because we love basketball will be disappointed. Fans like billhaverchuck alluded to will see it as a disaster of major proportions and they'll be calling for Kelvin Sampson's head. The only way for true basketball fans to endure the frustration and anger you feel during the meltdown is to disappear for a few days until things settle down. I don't think we'll lose on Thursday, but should that happen you may find a trip to our board interesting. You might even see it if the game is close. I don't know if our basketball fan base is unique in the way they react to a loss or close game. But they are definitely a demanding bunch; likely the result of our success in football over the years.

just remember it's only a game, although I suspect it means more to us than it does to OU. You will be much stronger next year. It isn't often when a mid-major gets the chance to do some damage in the Big Dance two years in a row.

Oh there will be some "fans" who will complain even if we put it together and make a final 4 run, trust me. They bit*hed when we lost to Indiana (in the 02 Final 4) even though our PG sprained his ankle badly the day before the game and Aaron McGhee fouled out with 4-5 mins left and we lost a close one. They complained when we lost to Carmello Anthony and the Cuse in the 03 Elite 8 and they will do the same no matter when and where we lose to. Now these are a select few I am talking about, I don't know maybe 50+ different people, maybe more, it is hard to remember all their names because they only come to complain.

I think some of the fans were spoiled by Billy Tubbs offense. Some of them don't remember that when he lost the defense that his system stunk.

In BB, the offense and defense go together much more closely than they do in FB.
