Just wondering where you would like to see UWM play and who you would like them to face in the first round. I listed all the possible sites and potential 3 to 6 seeds. So this is not an all inclusive list but just the most likely matchups as of right now according to our friend Joe over at ESPN.
Sites: Philadelphia Auburn Hills San Diego Salt Lake Dallas Greensboro Dayton Jacksonville
Teams: 3 seeds: UCLA, UNC, LSU, Tenn 4 seeds: Iowa, West Virgina, Pitt, George Wash 5 seeds: Florida, Kansas, Washington, BC 6 seeds: Marquette, G-town, NC State, Oklahoma
I would like to see the Dayton site, but if its going to be far away I'm pulling for San Diago. I could go for some 75 and sun right about now. As for teams I would not mind seeing either of the over rated PAC-10 teams, Iowa, or George Washington. Picking one team, I like the Iowa match up for us. I have to like our chances against a team that struggles to score and does not play all that well away from home. Plus this would help to ensure a more local game with two midwestern teams.
I think a GW v UWM game would create the most national media attention for us (asside from a MU or Tenn game). Two mid-majors, one the media darling of this year so far and us being the story of the tourny last year.

I would love to see Florida on the other side of the bracket from us. The SEC is a very overrated conference, and I had no problem seeing Alabama across from us last year. Florida played an incredibly weak schedule all year, and yet some how remained high in the polls even after losses. Give me Florida in Dayton or Auburn Hills, and I see us moving on.

I would like to see us at and paired up with
site: Auburn Hills or Dayton (traveling reasons & I'm going to San Diego in April for 12 days).
Teams: George Washington or Iowa. GW because I think their ranking is somewhat overrated, and Iowa because they are a streaky shooting team and very inconsistent.

Salt Lake City would be the absolute worst. i want Dayton or Auburn Hills but i can make a ton of Anchorman references w/ San Diego.
i'd prefer GW of them all but i'm glad Fairleigh Dickinson will be 1 seed so we wouldn't have to meet them until the Sweet 16, which we would then lose by 55.

I hope for Salt Lake City. That way I can drive instead of flying and I can get back to that area which is beyond beautiful. But this would probably be the worst destination for a lot of UWMers. San Diego would be key too, I could drive there as well. I remember watching the 2003 game against ND while I was at Seau's in SD. I almost got beat down by about 10 Notrewack fans.
Besides, I'm sick of flying...

Our first president was upset by Temple today 68-53 in the A10 quarterfinals. this will hurt their seeding.

im against utah due to the lack of alcohol, against michigan, cuz it'll be like rosemont again staying in a hotel in the middle of nowhere and having to drive to get anything.
im for dayton, proximety for fans; san deigo, i've always wanted to go to philly.
the others wouldnt be bad just not my first choice.

I'm hoping we play George Washington, although we'll see if that happens after their early conference tourney exit. If not GW, I'd love to see Boston College. Not only because we beat them last year, but because they play awful defense. Plus, they don't really like to run up and down the floor, so maybe we could try to get them into a hurry-up game. Otherwise, Smith and Dudley may murder us. Of course, this is IF we play those guys. As for sites, I'd just prefer to have it as close to Milwaukee as possible.

I think you can remove the 3 seeds and the 6 seeds. We won't be an 11 seed, and I don't see us getting as low as a 14 seed.
Makes the most sense to put us somewhere in the Midwest, but it all depends on what ranked seed we are. I'm still pulling for Salt Lake City. I feel a sick day coming on.

Is there an unwritten policy about matching up two teams that played in the previous years tourney. It seems like you don't see it very often in the first round. Therefore I doubt we get BC in the first round. I think they do seem to set up later round rematches quite often though. For years I kept seeing Illinois vs. Kansas in the sweet sixteen or elite eight.

For years I kept seeing Illinois vs. Kansas in the sweet sixteen or elite eight. From NCAAsports.com: Additional Considerations 1. A team moved out of its natural area will be placed in the next closest region when possible. 2. If possible, rematches of regular-season games should be avoided in the first and second rounds. 3. If possible, rematches of previous years' tournament games should be avoided in the first and second rounds. 4. The committee will examine the previous five tournament brackets to determine the number of times a particular team or conference has been moved out of its natural region. The committee shall attempt to avoid moving a team or conference out of its natural region or geographic area an inordinate number of times.

lunardi has us in San Diego vs. BC in a 4 vs. 13 matchup. thankfully he isn't usually right, remember that matchup we were supposed to have vs. louisville last year as a 14 seed? how'd that work out?
