How about not.
Better to play MU.

I dont quite see how a sweet 16 game would happen between us and Tenn based on projected seeds. Maybe a second round game if they fall to a 4 seed. I would expect to see the potential second round match up between us and MU more than with Tenn. Just gut feeling though.

It would seem to me that Tennessee would have an additional advantage in that Pearl knows the strengths and weaknesses of the key Milwaukee players so well. Thus I think that the committee would stay away from scheduling a UWM - Tennessee matchup in the early rounds. Also, in line with what has been already discussed in prior posts, I don't expect the seeds to align for this matchup to happen, at least not in round one. I believe that Milwaukee will get at least a 12 seed, and Tennessee will be seeded better than five.

uwmpanther: I concur. I think UWM has a great shot as a 12-seed, especially if Montana can beat Northern Arizona tonight and get the automatic bid. Unless Tennessee mails it in for the SEC tourney, I think they get a #3 seed.

Coaches leave all the time and go to major schools and they are hardly if ever paired up in an opening round game...Will not happen..at least I hope not cause I think they would destroy us

I'm not sure they would...
They are a one man team, who can't do dick inside.AT and Joah would score at will, and pressing Chris Hill is almost pointless.
Us vs Tennessee is big because people still remember us,but also love and remember where Bruce took us.That would be the marquee first round game.

If Tennessee makes the SEC Championship game, they'll get a 3 seed and the point will be moot.

Well...
Tennessee lost today to South Carolina. Some folks on their message board think they will get us. And get this...they are worried!
They should be. Those boys look tired. I think BP has gotten all he can get out of the personnel he was left with this season. I may be the minority, but I think if we got them as an opponent we would beat them.

tennesse is on the downhill. htey wont make it past hte round of 32 IMO. i dont think itll be easy for us but i think if we play liek we did against butler in the 2nd half i think we could hang with anyone in the country save Uconn and nova

I agree...that team just looked tired today, and has for the past several games. Those guys gave all they could to Bruce and his system, but one glaring problem with them I saw was no inside game. They rebound (or don't) like Butler. I think we would have our way with them on the inside with Joah, and hell Boo too if he played like he did Sunday.

Plus you would have to factor in emotions. As much as BP did for this program, there were a few on the team who were miffed at his leaving and how he did it. I am sure that would play into it as well.

Right, they wouldn't have anybody to contend with Joah on the inside, save Major Wingate. But then who would guard Tigert? And if Bruce presses (obviously), we have the guard play to break it. That would be a fascinating game.

i think emotions and the matchup give us the edge but i think thats easily easily easily erased with the knowledge he would have about our players. he knows them, their shots their tendencies. if who he has over there can impliment a gameplan i would be deeply afraid of that matchup.
