Just more incentive for a UWM-BU SHOWDOWN.

I'm not surprised by any of the picks. Could've given POY to Joah, Schilb, Polk or Humphrey - each made a strong case for it.

i'd agree with that list. i'm a big fan of giving the POY to the player on the team that earned the #1 seed, however Polk was very deserving. there's no way Butler is sitting at #2 without him.

i personally think that boo and wood should be swwitched as far as first and second team results went. i thought that boo was and had a better year than wood did, but otherwise i guess that it is for the most part pretty on

I never understood the thinking that POY should go to someone from the #1 team. The award is for player of the year...not necessarily team of the year. You can't punish one player on a 2nd place team who is deserving just because the team wasn't as strong overall as the 1st place team. I think Joah had a great shot as well, but nobody should think he deserved it over Polk just because Butler was #2.
Jeffers as NOY was a no-brainer....weren't we arguing between Jeffers and and Young or Massiah earlier in the year? Please....I think Jeffers will have a legitimate shot to be POY in the future...

For the most part I agree with the selections. The only choice that could be argued, from my stand point is...Schilb. I thought he over-achieved last season and under-achieved this season. Yeah, he averaged 19 ppg, 5 rpg and 5 apg, but in both games against UWM he was held to a quiet 20+.
I never got the feeling that he could've taken over at any time and not only scored at will, but helped his teammates score.
I see why he's a 1st teamer, but I thought Tigert could've been switched with him.

Sorry, but I think you're a little crazy. Here's a comparison of conference stats in categories that either one or both players were listed in the top 15:
Scoring: Wood #4 @19.0, Davis #7 @16.5 Rebounding: Wood #18 @ 4.9, Davis ? Assists: Wood: #4 @ 4.31, Davis? FT%: Wood #6 @ .802, Davis #11 @ .757 Steals: Wood #2 @1.75, Davis #6(T) @ 1.44 3 pt %: Davis #14 @ .354, Wood? 3 pointers/game: Davis #2 @ 2.81, Wood? Assist/TO Ratio: Wood #15 @ 1.35, Davis? Defensive Rebounds: Wood #14(T) @ 3.44, Davis?
I didn't look carefully at the overall season stats, but I don't think you would see that much of a change in the overall comparison. Wood was definitely a first teamer.

I'll agree with Big D about Jeffers...I believe he is deserving of the NOTY.
However, as I have lurked the UIC board lately, they aren't giving Justin Bowen nearly as many props as they are to Jeffers. Bowen quietly had a great year and will be the difference maker for UIC in the tournament.
As for best player on best team getting POTY, I'm not worried. Out of 10 players all-conference, we had 3 of them. a couple teams didn't get anyone, so we ARE well represented.
