You are graduating Boo, JT, AT, Chris Hill, Chris Ford, and one other....who is going to be there replacements? Chris Ford retired from Milwaukee a long time ago ... as head coach from the Milwaukee Bucks . You mean Derrick Ford. sorry, yeah. I believe he was a pistons coach or assistant at one time as well. Most recently with the 76ers I believe. Anyhow, what is the outlook on next season for you guys.

I realize it was a blow out but there was a huge difference in the free throws. UWM 14-19, Detroit 1-4. On the plus side we missed our first 3 free throws and then went 14-16. I was listening to the post game and Bidlingmeyer made an excellent point. Due to the scheduling this will be the first time in a long time that the team will be able to work on themselves rather than planning for their next opponent. I like Chris Hill but he needs to work on his shot hardcore. Get healthy Tigert and Massiah. I like the fact that the last game of the year was a blow out, all the confidence in the world heading into the tourney. Every year I have been in school here they have won a conference title; I could get used to this.

Forgot to mention that point guard next year is going to be a strength for this team next year. Hanson and Smith compliment each other very nicely and Hanson progression is amazing. That doesnt even mention the new recruits. Maybe next year wont be a step back, as it has been mentioned guards win mid-major games.

I dont think there is such a bright outlook on next year... back to reality! I'm sure it won't take long for them to get some good talent in, and re-load.. but a year of bad after 4 good is to be expected at this level..

Bill Johnson is an idiot... that guy has more retarded comments than a special olympics peer voting group.
As much as I respect UWM and what you've been able to do over the past few years, that guy realy takes your program down a notch or two... its too bad that the success of your program doesn't warrant a professional voice!
Maybee he could intern for Chris Denari of Butler, and learn a thing or two!

Bill Johnson, that is the announcer I take it? Good voice and everything but everything else about him sucks. He makes some nice calls and I can see why you would like him as a hometown announcer, but he makes some of the most ridiculous comments. Plus, could somebody please get this guy a media guide. Its very unprofessional when he is out there misprouncing players names. And then saying "I am sorry to the folks in Utica, MI if I butchered his name" There is a pronunciation guide in the media guide as well as on game sheets that is provided to the media. I realize the guy barely plays and is a walk on but he is a senior who has seen action in the past vs the Panthers. Dead-Voo-Kye...not Dead-voo-kitch.

Atherton - What was the suprise that you said Detroit had for us? (Serious question, I didn't notice them doing anything different)
That was an enjoyable game lets not turn this thread into a Bill Johnson fightfest.

Just mentioning the name Bill Johnson instills fear in even the mightiest of Bulldogs. Atherton don't run from your feelings!!

Hey Art Core,
I don't know what trick up his sleeve he was talking about either, having watched this team struggle up and down this season. I do expect their effort to be a complete 360 at Calihan come Saturday vs. the Bulldogs. But you gotta admit...your announcers is pretty poor as far as being professional. Of course this is coming from a guy who listened to the great Ernie Harwell...

I aim to please.
I think I set some land-speed record sprinting from the student section to taunt a second half free throw only to find out that it was a non-shooting foul.
Good win. I hope Cotton takes those comments I made about his Mom to heart and kills Butler.

The insight that Bill Johnson provides makes me wonder whether or not you truly have listened to him before, or if you're just talking smack about another Milwaukee institution. How about you just worry about the upset of the year tomorrow night.

DetTitan- If you are UWM fan you love him. If you are a fan of any team we play its easy to hate him. He makes the radio broadcast fun for people who care about UWM like he does. I'm sure he doesn't mean to offend any other school (possibly excluding Butler ;D) with his broadcast, but before this season it wasn't as if anyone outside of the Milwaukee area could hear his broadcasts.
Maybe after this season the Horizon League will insist on more neutrality from broadcast over the Internet, but until then other teams will just have to deal with what is given them.
On the topic of our players for next year we have a good compliment of guards already here and coming in from recruiting. As far as post players we are very thin, and as of yet haven't signed anyone to fill the void of McCoy, Tigert, Tucker, and Ford. Best of luck against Butler.

The funny thing about people who try to justify idiodic comments or actions, by saying that they bring more popularity to themselves, is that it only works for people who have talent. Something tells me that this shmuck thinks he's making himself more popular. Sure, we are mentioning his name, but in the process nobody has respect for him... I guess if he want's to excite the students, and young alumni with his unprofessional approach, thats all good; but if he ever wants to take it to the next level, I'm sure this lack of professionalism will eventually hold him back. As for the "suprise", I was just trying to get some people to speculate - I thought it would be fun... The insight that Bill Johnson provides makes me wonder whether or not you truly have listened to him before, or if you're just talking smack about another Milwaukee institution.Ha - you must write a comedic piece for that "newspaper" of yours... "Milwaukee institution" I'll stay away from anything you produce, if you provide even half of the "insight" that Johnson spews.. it would be worth less than a fire-starter in my home...

Art Vandelay Thanks for the luck Corevelay ;D Just to let you know, I don't think Bill Johnson is the worst announcer in the Horizon...that honor belongs to the crack squad who does the Youngstown St. games. I was about to pull my hair out with the birdbrain game they called. At least we won that game on the road
