AT today. He was giving advice to Ford and McCoy and looked like he was being real positive on the bench.
Get healthy Adrian.

Maybe if he doesn't land a foreign basketball job, we could use him as an assistant. I saw him talk to the players more in this game than I had seen any of the assistants do all year during a game.

Off topic, but I dont seem to understand the role of the assistant coaches during the game. I know this has been mentioned before, but it seems like they just stand around with their hands in their pockets.

A lot of what they do is off the court. For example a guy like Duffy Conroy will put together scouting tapes, and review stuff for recruiting. I'm sure Jeter asks their assitance throughout the game, however for the most part they tend to do behind the scenes work

this year assistant coaches are not very verbal The whole staff is young........and still feeling things out. I am sure that "it" will come with time. I am not going to write a tutorial, but I think RJ did/is doing a fine job. Sure there are things that I would have done differently, but I am not in charge. - RJ does not miss free throws - RJ does not miss lay ups - RJ does not play lackluster for 35 minutes and then decide to play with a sense of urgency for the last five minutes (and don't say he should motivate....at this point in the season, with a senior dominated team, they should be SELF motivated). - Things they have been working on all year are suddendly changed (no AT or KM), and people are forced to play out of position - RJ cannot suddendly come up with a shooter to elimiate the fact that teams can simply zone us and take us completley out of any kind of half court offense (The book is out on UWM, just zone them and they are screwed - that is not RJ's fault, it is simply lack of personnel and lack of players executing - RJ know how to beat a zone, but his players won't do it). - RJ is not the one who isn't defending - RJ is not the one turning the ball over - RJ is not simply going through the motions - etc. etc. AT did do a great job of keeping himself (and the rest of the guys) in the game!

Jeter's job is to give the players the best chance to win, and that's done by the gameplan and proper ingame adjustments. Overall he's done a pretty good job, although not adjusting to the 3-2 zone put on by Loyola was crucial. A lot of our points came off transition and easy layups created by the press. But as mentioned, Jeter has no control over tanked free throws, careless ballhandling, and missed layups. They've played hard all year and the effort has been there. He's made it clear if you don't give the effort you're going to earn a spot on the pine.
