Is it just me or was I hearing a distinct "UWM" chant in Chicago?

I thought their students were pretty loud and pretty active throughout the game.
It was the first time I'd been there and didn't think we were outshouting them for most of the game. But cripes they should have had way more students there. The place is spitting distance from their dorms and they were playing the conference leader, a team they almost beat on its home court a couple of weeks ago.

I thought their students were pretty loud and pretty active throughout the game. i give them props for that but timing and rhythm (sp?) couldn't have sucked worse. chanting 2 different things at opposite ends of the court or one side being a few seconds behind the other showed a SEVERE lack of coordination. at least their chants weren't piped in like GB. that still is probably the saddest thing i've ever seen. either way i like LU's campus from what i could see @ night time and the Gentile Center is hands down the better college bball venue in Chicago. there's no point in comparing to the Pav b/c it's a complete waste of time. it's like comparing a Dodge Dart to a Jaguar.

Random Stuff here:
1. I actually watched the game on DirecTV channel 640, which is the Loyola broadcast on Comcast. What a difference. WMLW has a lot of work to do to., because Comcast had the following: - better camera work - better quality picture (WMLW's was fuzzy) - they showed the shot clock unlike WMLW - announcers were well educated on both teams. On may occasions they brought up points or referenced important stats that actually were relevant to the game. - announcers were certainly pro-Loyola, but there were definitely not homers. They praised UWM for good plays, and bad. Same for Loyola. All in all, it was really enjoyable to watch the game this way. Nothing against WMLW, but Comcast was fantastic.
2. On a related note, what would we have to do to get some of our home games televised locally?
3. I actually thought it was one of the better officiated HL games I have seen in awhile. Yes, they let a lot of stuff go, but I like it that way. the officials were consistent, IMO, and that's the most important thing. Did they miss some stuff? Sure, but at least they weren't letting plays go on one end, and calling fouls on the other.
4. Chris Hill, you are the man.
5. Allan Hanson is slowly winning me over. He's making much better decisions, and his shot seems to be improving. I no longer live in fear when Chris is on the bench.
6. I DO live in fear when AVO is handling the ball. As great as he is as a man-to-man defender, he is simply a liability on offense at this point. If he could only learn to slow down on offense and STOP trying to dribble the ball, I would not cringe like I do.
7. BIG props to Joah tonight. Early on, it seemed like he was in danger of getting sucked into a jump shooting battle with Schilb, but he stuck to what he does best. he played really tough inside.
8. AT, awesome.
9. Leon Young is Sideshow Bob. He tried to kill Bart Simpson. I am certain of it.
10. Best game of the year for us, IMO. Loyola played a very good game, and we took every shot they gave us, and answered. The poise we showed down the stretch was a pleasure to watch.

I dont think televising home games is the answer...i can see where the casual basketball fan is like ooohhh UWM on tv maybe we should go to a game honey...but I think it end up being people who were up in the air about going would stay home and watch it on tv..just an opinion, but maybe it would help some

what about Justin Guarini, of American Idol fame, and Carlito, current WWE star?

He looks a lot more like Carlito than Guarini, Sideshow Bob, or anyone else.
Come on, myself and a few other guys taunted him as Carlito pregame, and whenever he did something good, we screamed "That's not cool"
^ @ the homegame.

I tried to get on him last night.
I was yelling to him that Welcome Back Kotter was cancelled years ago, asking him if he paid for that perm and pointing out that if he would stop hitting people with that hair he'd have less fouls.
I don't know if he heard any of it since it was so loud but the fans around me seemed to enjoy it.

We need to bust a lot of guys balls about things like that, especially if it entertains the crowd/messes with their head.
