i'm not really worried about the game. for the MSU game, a major factor was that CSU shot 55.6% from the 3 in the first half compared to MSU's 28.6%. the 2nd half switched w/ CSU shooting 31% and MSU shooting 50%. plus MSU had 16 more FT attempts than CSU. even though the vikings overall played well in this game, they also got sh*tcanned by UNC 112-55 in only the 2nd game of the season. csuvikings.collegesports.com/sports/m-baskbl/stats/2005-2006/mgame02.htmli expect us to win by at least 20.

I'm trying to decide whether I should come to the student section or courtside for the game. Any ideas?

What an awful game, horrible sloppy play by both teams and an incredible hack job by the zebras. 75-68 UWM wins and all I can say is they were up 17 late and the game got even worse then.

Ugly game, but glad it was against a team like Cleveland State. Very similar to last year's Detroit game UWM lost right after the new year. Coming off a week-long road trip, this probably should've been expected. Hopefully, the guys can get rested up before Thursday. Good to see UWM got its first victory in varsity football since the 1970s tonight. I guess without size or athleticism, the Vikings had to get physical and it showed. Cleveland State's one fan is whining about the fouls on the Vikings: p206.ezboard.com/framblermaniafrm2.showMessage?topicID=12.topicBottom line, the refs were horrible tonight ... for both teams. That isn't a new development in the Horizon League. Cleveland State was lucky not to get 40 fouls tonight.

I gotta say, I would be pissed if I was a CSU player or fan. They shot 8 free throws to our 45. 45!! We need to keep in mind how pissed UWM fans would be if the calls had gone against us like that. I was very poorly officiated, but I wouldn't say for both sides.

The best thing you can say about this game is it was a "W." Not much positive came out of it. Tigert is going to be sore tomorrow morning, it was bruising in the lane tonight.

We should have shot twice as many FT's as we got. My favorite was a pass to Boo, he was dribbling the ball with one hand while the defender had his hand pulling Boo's other arm, ref was two feet away and did nothing.
Yes we got away with some too but nowhere near the number of fouls those thugs didn't get called on them. My friend from Madison said he thought the refs were trying hard to keep the entire CSU team from fouling out.
Was an ugly game but at least we won.

There's a reason why UWM went to the line 45 times ... and Jeter's quote sums that up perfectly:
"That's their style," Jeter said of the physical play of the Vikings. "Our style is to be aggressive but to not send teams to the line. We had a lot of to with shooting those free throws, too. We continued to attack and continued to throw the ball in the low post."
