Montana has yet to beat a decent team (RPI):
We should win, their record might be fluff. Santa Clara is their only win over a team sub 200 RPI, and its not even below 150!
Later, UWMfreak

this most likely will be a tough game, but i think that we will pull out a victory on this one, but it will be a lot closer thatn the WYO game. Just a hunch nothing really to base it off of, just a gut feeling.
let's not forget now either, i believe that some one posted it already but i heard that the game can be seen over the internet from MOntana's site, so at least most of us can watch this game too, or just stya content to hear the vocal stylings of our great radio guy Bill Johnson.

Even though most of their wins are against sub-par teams, with a 10 game win streak that place is gonna be rocking. I'll be very impressed if UWM pulls this win off.

Agreed, a winning streak like this can create loads of confidence, especially for a home game. I will be very proud if they pull this out despite the fluff schedule. Go Panthers

Two things to keep in mind here. While their schedule may be weak, five of their wins have been either on the road (4) or on a truly neutral court (1). Of their five wins at home, they've outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points per game. Now, I completely realize that two of those wins are lopsided ones against non-DI schools, but they also beat Stanford by 19 at home.
I'd say this will be a VERY tough game.

Ummm guys I would not take Montana as a slouch game or a team that resembles the talent level of Wyoming whatsoever...
This Montana team is very very good and is currently ranked higher than UWM as well
Montana beat Stanford ( A down team) but a Pac 10 team nonetheless...They are a very very good team and especially at home
I am very hopeful that we can get this win and I believe in the guys and the coaches...We certainly have the talent to do so but this is NOT a team to be taken lightly...In fact to date, I believe they will be our toughest competition excluding Wisconsin/Memphis
Montana is a very very good team..We can not rely on who they have beaten..We have been in the situation to get some not so great teams on our schedule in the past...All that matters is that they are beating the teams they are supposed to
Lets go get a win boys

This game will be a tough one. That streak will probably get a lot of people in that arena. I'm hoping we come out on top but it won't be easy.

chatter is starting to heat up over at the Montana d-board. i found this assessment especially interesting, and misinformed:
"Wisconsin-Milwaukee isn't very deep. They've got three players in Tucker, Davis and Tigert that provide 60% of their offense and 50% of their rebounding. They don't play a team style of ball but their talent and rebounding allows them to get away with it."
maybe they should ask Wyoming about our depth? i think it's one of those cases where you can't really rely on stats.

Ha. Show me one team that doesn't get 60 percent of its scoring from three starters. That's funny.
Let them keep talking

One can only hope that their coaching staff is just as misinformed as some of their fans.
Obviously that's not true but now I want this win just about more than any other so far this year.

I agree many teams you look at will have 60% or more of their scoring come from 3 guys, some teams will get 60% from 2 guys. I think if their fans had any clue about a teams depth they would look at minutes played per game (and how many games that player has played in so far) and when you look at us we have 9 guys that get 10 or more minutes a game and each guy has played all 10 games which is the same as them. So I guess they are not a very deep team either then They have some size but their bigs are younger players so I see Tigert getting the better of them again and it looks like they might play some 3 guard line-ups which would play well for us and give us probably a size advantage and play a line up made up of hill, davis, tucker, tigert and smith/massiah alot which I would really like to see since I feel that is still our best line up even with the improvement of mccoy.
