Probably a bit of euphoria from tonights game, so what...
Yes, you never look past your next opponent.
Yes, there is a lot of ball to play yet.
Yes, it's a long season.
Yes, "add your favorite cliché here".
But we don't actually play on the team do we? And this kind of talk is what makes us fans, right?
So...anybody see this team running the table now?
I see possible slip up games at Wyoming, at Montana, and at UWGB. Butler, Detroit, and the Fibs are always tough of course, but I don't think this team will trip up there. The Bracket Buster game is a wild card right now, but it is at the cell this year.
Just a thought after 4 Oatmeal Chocolate Stouts.

UWM has 20 games left before the first round of the horizon tourney. I'm going to say UWM goes 21-6 up to there; 14-2 in conference, 1 loss against either Montana or Wyoming.

Yeah, you're probably about right, but a "run the table" is quite possible now. UWM has 20 games left before the first round of the horizon tourney. I'm going to say UWM goes 21-6 up to there; 14-2 in conference, 1 loss against either Montana or Wyoming.

Possiable indeed, but an "off-night" say at Wyo or Mont. could be a loss. Dont ever count out road games at Butler and Loyola...always a tough places to play.

That was a great fun game last night, but the intensity level goes up another notch in conference play. And for that matter, we have some tough non-cons left, too.
Loyola, UIC, Detroit, Butler, GB. Tell me which of those games is going to be "easy" on the road -- or for that matter at home.
I'll personally be extremely satisfied if we win the conference -- at whatever record -- and bring the Horizon tourney to Milwaukee again.

right on Fran. the conference will be no pushover this year but we should be able to win it with focused play. i'll take a championship any way we can. saturday is an important game. we need to start off strong in conference play.

It is reasonable to hope for an undefeated finish to the season. What surprises me is how easily we handled Green Bay. It shows me we can run the table.
While everyone is quick to point to non-conference game against Wyoming and Montana, Oakland was the play-in winner last year in the NCAAs.

Its possible, not at all likely. Anything on the road is tough so Wyoming and Montana will be difficult games but we should be favored in each. Oakland got hot in their conference tourny last year. They had a losing record for the year and I believe had a losing conference record so we should mop the cell floor with them.
I doubt we will lose a home conference game this year but if I had to pick one it would be Loyola. As for on the road, Loyola, Butler, Detroit and GB will give us all we can handle on their home court. I will suspect we lose at least two conference games on the road maybe three. But this should again give us a shot at having home court for the conference tourny and as we all know that is what matters most from here on out.
So while it would be great to run the table it means nothing and usually losing a game or two is much more helpful in terms of keeping the team grounded and having things to work on in practice.

This is a ridiculous thread.
These are college kids. We will lose again.

We games still at Loyola, Butler (whoever has been there knows that place can be bad news, regardless of record), Detriot, UIC, Montana and Wyoming, this is unrealistic. Let's cut the undefeated talk until February when it happens.
For as much success that UWM has had in the past couple of years, people seem to have unrealistic expectations right now for the program. You cannot expect this team to not have a blip on the map from now until the NCAA Tourny.

I dont think we can put much basis on last nights game...Just like last year when we beat them by 29...this is early in the conference season...GB is so young and we are a veteran group...give GB 5-10 more games and you will see a much improved team..I think we will see a dog fight up in GB..also, to go undefeated in conference would take alot of luck..Detroit can do anything, UIC is always an emotional game and at Butler and Loyola, those are tough games...I just dont think it will happen

Last year we beat GB at home by 29 and they beat us in GB. I don't think a 20 point W over a sub-par horizon league team is any indication that we will win out. Loyola is 7-1 and seem to be the real deal this year. Hopefully we will get out of conference play 13-3.
