According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel,
"Wisconsin assistant coach Rob Jeter and Metropolitan State head coach Mike Dunlap - have established themselves as the favorites to succeed Bruce Pearl. "We're trying to get this done ASAP; that's my timetable," Haidet said. "I've had discussions with maybe eight or 10 different people and we're narrowing things down." Haidet said he hoped to bring the top candidates to campus this week for final interviews and a possible meeting with UWM Chancellor Carlos Santiago. Even though Haidet has interviewed a number of candidates, the names of Jeter and Dunlap keep surfacing at the top of the discussion. Jeter is the longtime assistant of Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan, who was the UWM coach from 1999-2001."

Remember these important words: "The Journal-Sentinel is reporting" that Jeter and Dunlap are the leading candidates. What will it matter that they were the leading candidates Sunday night when someone else is named the new head coach on Wednesday.

Vote for Dunlap!!! Why go away from the formula that has worked for us twice already? Hire a lower division coach who has won NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS and who has a historically good track record. Bo and Bruce both turned out to be pretty good coaches, don't you think?

About why hire the search firm, a JS story yesterday said Haidet said he is not really using it to search, just to check credentials and other required steps that take a lot of time. That leaves him more time to interview.

Didn't have the time to figure out where to put this, but Tom Diener is coaching the USA High School All-Stars in their annual game against International HS aged players.
Just a random tidbit.

I wish him luck with that train wreck. But I guess he has no place to go but up....but with this team, never say never. I guess if Cats win 14 games next year...he's a hero.

Charlotte was in the playoffs not too long ago, so they've got some ability. They were obviously tanking from the start last year, being spoiled brats earning paychecks and not caring. Maybe a college coach is what they needed.

Mike Dunlap is now an assistant with the Bucks. He finally made it to Milwaukee.

lol yeahhhh if he couldn't find any semblance of success at LMU after improving his resume, I don't think he was gonna be the guy here.
There were no Bo Ryan/Bruce Pearl candidates for us that round 🤷
