After this game, I felt so proud of the team and everything that they accomplished this year. The two wins in Cleveland were awesome and it was great to witness a big piece of UWM history.
But the loss last night to the Illini was, in my opinion, the easiest loss to take in my three years at UWM. You never feel good after a loss, but this one was very bittersweet with a great emphasis on sweet. We hung in the game the entire night when we could have easily let the Illini get a 20 point lead and run away with the game. We even cut the lead to 9 with just under 4 minutes to play and we had the ball! We had a terrific run and the guys played their hearts out for 120 minutes!
Just think about some of the losses--to Butler 3 years ago on their floor on the last second shot by freshman Avery Sheets, the HL final game to UIC, the loss to Valpo on the crappy call at the end, losing to UW by a lot when we felt that we had a great change....
I was already proud of our team going into the game last night, and I came out even more proud--even though we didn't get the W!

Yup, this was by far easier to swallow than the UIC loss, or even te Notre Dame loss.

i'd say it was pretty easy to swallow. for me the Notre Dame game 2 years ago was the most difficult Panther loss ever... i mean to have a layout rim out for the first NCAA victory ever? that was heartbrake. and the UIC loss was a close second last year. but i walked out of that place with my head held high yesterday. there's no shame in losing to #1 on their court... especially when your in it in up til the end. the only dissapointing thing was seeing this magical season come to an end.

This was by far the easiest loss to take, IMO. Going into this game I knew I would be happy no matter the outcome of the game last night. This team did so much, so much more than people gave them credit for. I really hope this puts UWM on the map and keeps us there for a while.
The ND loss from two years ago is hard to still think about but I think it's harder to think about the loss to UIC last year, watching UIC fans storm the court was awful...

How could I have forgotten that one. I was right behind the basket and ready to go crazy because it looked like the ball was going in...I think we made up for it this year.
