its from chicago so of course illinois has the advantage but it shows how much they really dont have the size advantage and how well we match up statisticly. i think we have more of a chance than ever

Only a few teams have dared to apply full-court pressure against Illinois' Dee Brown, Luther Head and Deron Williams, arguably the top backcourt in the nation, but No. 12 seed Wisconsin-Milwaukee will try to unnerve the All-Americans.

The Panthers' persistent press left behind Alabama and onceunbeaten Boston College thus far in the tournament. Wisconsin-Milwaukee needs a dose of familiarity in what figures to be the most hostile environment Panthers coach Bruce Pearl has encountered in his 13 seasons as a head coach.

Ever since Pearl set off an NCAA investigation of Illinois in 1989 while he was an assistant at Iowa, diehard Illinois fans have longed to exact revenge on the basketball court. Therefore, Illinois' biggest advantage may be the deep sea of orange-clad fans who hope to engulf the Panthers in their first Sweet 16 appearance.

ILL: F Roger Powell, Sr., 6-6, 235, 24.4 min., 11.7 pts., 5.4 reb., 0.3 asst.
UWM: F Adrian Tigert, Jr., 6-7, 240, 30.5 min., 9.4 pts., 6.7 reb., 2.4 asst.
Skinny: Tigert, like Powell, doesn't hesitate to launch three-pointers and he sank
four in the first two rounds.He's averaging 13 points a game in tournament play
compared to 5 points for Powell.
Edge: Tigert in a close call. He's coming on at the right time, and raised his confidence with sound performances against Alabama and Boston College. He has no trouble deferring to teammates Ed McCants and Joah Tucker.

ILL: F James Augustine, Jr., 6-10, 230, 26.5 min., 10.6 pts., 7.6 reb.
UWM: F Joah Tucker, Jr., 6-5, 220, 28.9 min., 15.6 pts., 5.7 reb.
Skinny: Augustine scored a career-high 23 points against Nevada and pulled
down a career-high 15 rebounds in the first round.Tucker scored 23 points against
Boston College and 21 against Alabama.
Edge: Augustine. He's been unstoppable in the postseason and has the speed and strength to stifle Tucker, who is better suited to play guard. Augustine will need to keep Tucker's dribbling to a minimum, Weber said.

ILL: G Luther Head, Sr., 6-3, 185, 32.9 min., 15.7 pts., 4.0 reb., 3.8 asst.
UWM: G Ed McCants, Sr., 6-3, 200, 29.5 min., 17.5 pts., 2.7 reb., 1.8 asst.
Skinny: McCants is the Horizon League's player of the year and an honorable mention
All-American who is averaging 22 points a game in the tournament. He has
been exceptional from three-point range, going 9-for-17. Head is regaining the
form that made him first-team all-Big Ten and a second-team AP All-American.
Edge: Head. He's Illinois' best defender, perhaps the best McCants will see this season. McCants might be stronger, but Head can do it all for the Illini.

ILL: G Deron Williams, Jr., 6-3, 210, 33 min., 12.1 pts., 3.6 reb., 6.6 asst.
UWM: G Boo Davis, Jr., 6-3, 190, 21.4 min., 10.3 pts., 3.2 reb., 1.4 asst.
Skinny: Davis struggled from the perimeter in the first two rounds, and went
1-for-5 on three-pointers against Boston College.Williams is one of the best passers
in the country and had 10 assists against Nevada. He committed an unusually high
number of turnovers in the regular season but has just four in the tournament.
Edge: Williams, who needs to avoid foul trouble. He is the glue to Illinois' offense and keeps the Illini under control.

ILL: G Dee Brown, Jr., 6-0, 185, 31.9 min., 13.2 pts., 2.6 reb., 4.5 asst.
UWM: G Chris Hill, Jr., 5-10, 160, 29 min., 8 pts., 3 reb., 3.1asst.
Skinny: Brown is the Big Ten player of the year and a second-team AP All-
American but lately has been a streaky shooter. Hill is a respectable three-point
shooter (39 percent) and keeps turnovers to a minimum, but he is not a big playmaker
like Brown.
Edge: Brown. He wants to rebound from a subpar game against Nevada, in which stomach cramps derailed him. For once, he has a size advantage, albeit a slight one.
