NOT a Panther fan but if you don't mind I'd like to leave my prediction.
The line is 11-1/2, which if I was a betting man would take UWM and the points. That being said, after really looking over the matchups I've changed my original opinion of the final score.
Illinois 79 - UWM 72

Joah Tucker has a statment game and Tigert scores a season high. Hill hits two free throws in the last few seconds to seal a stunning upset, 76-72. The stock of whoever makes Zoloft goes through the roof as Champaign shrinks write thousands of scrips. Jimmy Collins quits at UIC and is last seen unshaven on the Navy Pier, holding a sign. "The End is Near."

In 2003 I predicted MU to lose to Kentucky 85-72 and MU won. Right now I'm predicting UWM to lose to UI by the same score, and I'm crossing my fingers.... Go Panthers

Illinois is a damn damn good team...They have all the tools to compete against what UWM brings to the table....If I am a non biased person giving my prediction I give UIUC a 10 point win....However, this is March, I am biased, and you have to feel the flow of where each team is going....
Here is why I will call an upset...(Not because I am a Panthere fan BUT.....)
UIUC has been expected to do everything they have done up to this point....Everyone knew they were excellent...NO ONE is predicting UWM to win...Well almost no one...UWM can play pressure free ball and just relax and play with a no care attitude and a nothing to lose attitude...UIUC has all the pressure in the world on them...
UWM is hot....UWM has easily played there best ball of the year as of late...They are clicking on all cylinders and playing with amazing confidence...This DOES matter at this time of the year....UIUC has barely escaped two tourney games this year...YES they have won but it has been anything but easy
UWM is a deeper team than UIUC....If we go to the end I like our chances....
I believe in these guys and I know they are capable of doing it and shocking the whole nation...Start believing Panther fans, start believing
UW-Milwaukee Panthers 74
Illinois Fighting Illini 70
GO PANTHERS....

83 has to be our lucky number. We just scored 83 in our first two tourney games and came through with W's. If we can score 83 again and limit the Illini beyond the arc, I like our chances. My prediction is:
UWM 83 Illinois 79
Like Pearl says: "you have to dream it first"!

My prediction is: UWM 83 Illinois 79 Like Pearl says: "you have to dream it first"! so i was watching Miracle last nite and thought the speech given right before the US v. Russia was pertinant to what we are facing now and i think we can pull it off. he said "9 out of 10 games they'd beat us, but not tonite, tonites our nite... " and so on. i really feel this way about this game and therefore the score will be 79 to 74

I thought of that Miracle speech too... It reminds me of something that Bruce would say to fire up the team. And that quote might be pretty true as well.
On a side note, Bruce didn't seem too fired up in the pregame for the Detroit that they showed on TV and we started out slow! I bet that he fired em up good for the Bama game but maybe was a little too quite for BC. But the team responded when they were down against BC! ;D

My gut feel is a low scoring affair. These teams play defense, something that seems to bore most Sports writer. As a fan I love the this style of play. Ala Wisconsin in the final Four years ago.
Watch Illinois leading with 10.3 on the clock. UWM in bounds to Hill, McCants is covered, Pass to Tigert. A Last second shot, time stands still in the rosemont. The backboard lights up red, Swish. UWM storms the court with a vicotory.
UWM 62 Illinois 60

The Panthers can't turn the ball over. They have to play flawless, just like Ohio State did. I say if we limit our turnovers to 10 or under, we have a chance.
This Illinois team scares me. Remember, they beat up on Wake, Zaga, UW (thrice, including once in one of the toughest arenas to play at) and Michigan St (twice).
