Today here in Springfield Illinois, on a local sports call-in show, former Iowa Hawkeye and NBA player Kevin Gamble (his best years were with the Celtics in the early 90's) discussed many things...including his thoughts on Bruce Pearl. When asked what he knew about the B.P./Illinois incident Kevin said he only knew what he has read (K.G. graduated from Iowa in '87). When he was asked if he thought what Pearl did was wrong Kevin said "What did he do?" When pressed further Kevin went on to say that it seemed to him that coach Pearl only did what was asked of him and paid the price by being banished to div II for many years. Kevin was asked his opinion of Bruce Pearl while he was playing for Iowa Kevin said he thought Pearl was a VERY hard worker with an attention to detail. He also said Pearl was a coach that got along extremely well with the community. He was then asked about other things, but I thought to be fair you guys should hear about this. I've known Kevin for a few years (he's a NAIA basketball coach here in Springfield) and have found him to be a very genuine man, one that says what he thinks. The more I hear and read about the incident of 16 yearsago...the more I think we Illinois fans should let it rest! Man, it's driving me crazy having to wait for gametime to get here!!

Nice post, but I'm probably not the only one who would rather not see any more involving the words Pearl, Iowa, or 16 years ago. Keep it real bb
