I hope the Illi-fans are absolute bastards during the game. After the Detroit NBA mess they will be the most hated school/team in the entire nation. All of the press and well deserved respect their team earned will be washed away with one idiotic fanbase. Ruin all of it for a UWM alumni coach, nice work Illini. No good press will follow what some of their fans plan on doing. In fact they will all go to jail, dont expect any negative cheering to be taken lightly by the NCAA. Those fans wont be able to come within a mile of another NCAA sporting event.
What are the regulations for the crowd receiving a technical? Is there even such a thing or was that just something I was told to shut me up? ;D
Just keep chanting Bruce Pearl as loud as possible.

I don't know the exact rule but yes the fans, and bench can get a technical. usually it happens when fans are throwing/spitting things ect.
Your right about the fans I hope they do act like that it would be nice to hear that they get nothing but bad press.
As I read through the site I didn't see any UWM fans talking smack which is good, keep our section filled with great fans with great class, just like the great school and city of Milwaukee.

i'm an illinois student and a four year member of orange krush
i plan on being at the game and am pissed off about the bruce pearl incident
i have read the transcripts and just about every article there is about this from both ends and from different sources
that being said, yes there will be some bruce pearl booing, but to be honest, you cant judge all illini fans based on those message boards, i know very few students that read or post on those boards, so most of the people that you're reading about are alums or just fans of illinois
also fan forums are a free for all, and sometimes its out of control what people say, dont judge all illinois fans based on what you read there, we will always believe our side, you will always believe yours, theres no point fighting about it anymore cause it happened 15 years ago.
if you read about orange krush we have some of the classiest fans and student section in the country. we raise money for charity in order to even be able to participate in orange krush.
when northewestern fans yelled inappropriate things at us and threw pizza at our players, we stayed classy when they came to assembly hall
during our purdue game we held up a 'thank you gene' poster for keady across from purdues bench. we also had 'we love gene' and 'thank you gene' chants randomly through the game and gave him an honorary orange krush shirt.
so yea, some people may be upset and some people may even be inappropriate, but all illinois fans are not like this, just remember that when you talk about these comments that some crazy illini fans are making

crush5 - thank you very much. i appreciate knowing that its not students. i was hoping no matter the outcome the whole stadium will be on their feet giving our seniors a round of appalause especially if we lose for having the greatest season in UWM history. thanks again for clearing this up a bit and lets keep this game class. i feel UWM also has some very classy fans and booing bruce, fine whatever, but if it gets personal and nasty i think some of our fans will do the same which will be very disappointing for both sides so again thanks and have fun and lets keep the student section fun and interesting and CLASSY!! heres to the sweet 16  |

That would make you about 6 years old in 1989. Do you even remember the incident? What did Bruce Pearl do to you that makes you soo pissed off about the incident? |

i'm not here to argue about this, just to clear up a misconception about illinois fans
like i said, i read all the transcripts and have been an illinois fan since i can remember
so maybe i wasnt in college when this happened and maybe i wasnt there, but it tarnished illinois name for a while and in my opinion from everything i have read and heard, the conclusion i have come to was that a recruiter was trying to manipulate a 17 year old kid, and thats just wrong
people that worked with pearl at the time have said they think hes a lowlife (their words), which just added to my belief that there were things going on that were just wrong with the whole situation
regardless, like i said if you would have read everything i wrote, you will always believe your side and i will always believe mine, so dont get mad at me for hating the man for helping to tarnish my schools name for a while and i wont get mad at you for believing his side of the story
FIGHTING ABOUT THIS IS A LOSE-LOSE SITUATION
just remember, the real fans will stay classy, and just as we will have people who will be inappropriate, so would anyones school that was in our situation, thats just how life works...some people just dont know how to act and theres nothing i can do to change that but remember that the real fans will act appropriately

I'm not mad. I was just curious. I've met Bruce Pearl before and I can say that he is one of the nicest, friendliest guy's you'll ever meet. So it's hard for me to listen to people wish all of these repulsive things, even death on a man that they've never met or ever talked to. I've noticed on that Illinios board they quoted a portion of the Bible and justified that quote for the revenge and anger and hatred they have. I know you said that they are stupid fans, but I've been reading the Bible for over 20 years and I've never found anything that condones violence or revenge. Maybe that guy quoted the Koran......but the point is that it's being taken way to far in my humble opinion.

i agree, way too far, but again, most of these people arent students and dont represent the general population of u of i, most peple my age dont even know about this and they are the people who will be at the games...i understand the frustration, and it makes me mad when people say this kind of stuff on our boards too

dont think of this as me trying have the last word...i was agreeing with what someone that had addressed what i said, a message board is made for people to write on, i'm not trying to fight with you guys, just trying to have an honest conversation with some people from uwm on a message board
also this probably wont be the last thing i write cause ITS A MESSAGE BOARD which means that people will keep talking on it
