I posted on their Bruce Pearl thread, but they actually removed my post... unfreaking believable. they won't even allow dialog about the issue. I didn't swear or anything like that. I think they got pissed because I said, "what was worse, taping a phone conversation or stealing 3K worth of stuff from college kids like Head."
censorship on a b-ball board....ridiculous
Its not like I went on and started a new thread like some of them have been doing on our board.
Freedom is on the March.........GO PANTHERS!!!!

Some of the Illinois fans are making legit, serious threats on Bruce Pearl and his family. Can he sue? There are certainly grounds for it, these people are nuts.
I hope the NCAA is reading it and are prepared for the potential Illinois criminals.

I don't know where to begin with the first page comment I saw in that thread.
"Bruce Pearl is the rough equivalent of the man who molested your daughter--and is still unrepentant about it."
Whoever made that post needs . . . something. Therapy, solitary confinement, more hugs from his mom, a dictionary definition of "child molestation", but he needs something.

i spoke with a family lawyer on this issue. Coincidentally they practice in the northern chicago area. Just causual free legal advice. Since this is "hot button" issue with much national attention and even great regional attention the police will be looking into these matters. Or at least, they should be looking into the matters. For the most part pearl will most likly receiave his own secret service for his family and friends and all those staying togheter in the hotel.
Internet threats do not give a good enough case for a restraining order. Most courts have already ruled in favor of the "abortion list cites" allowing them give out information of dr.'s and so on. However, unwanted phone calls with threats will spur police attention. They will be making al ist of people involved with the phone calls and watched closer by the police as the week commences.
I just wish they could play basketball. This is a david and goliat match up and it feels like deon thomas has eligability in this game. However, all this talk should get the guys to want to win this game even more. PLus we should have the support of Bruce Webber.

Freak, you should just delete all these stupid posts on the bp issue, this board is just getting boring reading the same stupid post over and over, nobody cares anymore we've heard about this since bp was hired.

censorship is bad.
you have to understand that in our country, in order to have freedom of speech you can say what you want, but the system only works if you allow someone to scream at the top of their lungs something you are fighting against.
direct a new discussion, but do not delet post. this what you might look like if you delete posts.
UIC MODERATOR Don't even waste posting anything that isn't basketball talk.
It's sad enough that on your awesome day, you're still concerned with us. To top that, no one will even see your ridiculous posts as I will delete every single one of them. Then, the further it goes, I will just delete every single post you make, whether it's about basketball, sewing, or your mom.
I don't care. Go away...jesus, get a life and enjoy something amazing in your school's history.

Kind of like Illinois fans should do with their team this week....but they won't. Apparently some guy who's making six figures a year overseas and was involved 16 years ago is more important than the Ed McCants-Luther Head matchup...give me a break. Just get over it and let's talk about the game. What do people project as the matchups? Does Boo or Ed take Luther?

I thought Ed would be on Deron, leaving Boo with Head, but I guess you could go either way. They seem to think that we will have nobody to match up with Powell and Augustine, and they will just be dunking on us all night....uh... didn't they read about the BC game.. AT, Tucker, and Wright handled their bigger bigs pretty damn well.

You're right. Actually, we have a strong advantage at one point and that's whoever guards Tucker or tries to, will get eaten up. Deron and Luther are not physical enough and Powell is not the athlete to stay with Tucker off the dribble. We need to find ways to get Tucker the ball early and often. One way or the other, Tucker will get to the line. It's probably a matter of who they want more on the bench.

Taylor Bell's Suntimes column puts the facts out there quite clearly. Two things to keep in mind: 1) Taylor Bell hates Illinois and takes every opportunity to put down the university and it's sports teams. 2) Taylor Bell gave a sworn deposition in the civil case. He had conversations with all of the involved parties at the time this all took place. 3) One important fact was not mentioned in this article. Deon Thomas took and passed a lie detector test to support his version of events. Pearl has steadfastly refused to do likewise. www.suntimes.com/output/campus/cst-spt-bell21.html

Can't we all just get along?! In all seriousness, this issue is sooo damned boring. I really feel bad for the fans of this board. The more they try to talk basketball the more that 'OTHER' issue continues to be brought up. Anyway, who on UWM do you guys/gals believe will get the assignment to guard L. Head? As an Illinois fan I'm anxious to see how the Illini handle a good press. We have faced token presses a few times this year and haven't had any problems. Should be good. P.S. You guys should take FULL advantage when we put Nick Smith into the game. A 7'2" guy that can't rebound, play defense, or block shots. . Rumor has it he hasn't dunked in 2 years ;D. He does have nice rotation on his missed shots however! I know its not good to take one of your own players to task like that but he's been such a disappointment, especially for a senior.
