Nice analysis........as a Panther fan, I agree.....if UWM can make a few shots early, get into the press, and force tempo a bit, we will be in ok shape. However, if we come out cold, it may be a long day. But keep in mind, with the way UWM shoots the ball, and thier ability to make opponents turn the ball over, they will make runs, and they do not get worried when/if the game is a 10 point game - in thier eyes, they are only 45 seconds away from getting right back into it. Should be a great fight on Sat.!

I think teh pace of the game will be the telling factor. If we play "our game", I think that will cause BC too many problems down the stretch, and will not allow them to take advantage of their physical strengths.
If they succeed in slowing it down, and we get into a half-court game, we will struggle, and likely lose.

if you are a panther fan you better have picked us to advance in your brackets!
i think that we really have a chance to make it past these guys. as of late BC has not been playing that well..until yesterday when they ripped past Penn yesterday... o we will have to come out and have a collective effort from all of our guys, if ed and joah can stay hot together again. i think we could dance all over BC like we did bama! i really like McCoys presence off the bench yesterday he was awesome chipping in 6 points and 5 boards and hella defense on the press. also another key thing for us is to stay outta foul trouble the early fouls that ed picked up yesterday nearly gave me a heart attack.. that was a bad situation wich pearl handled beautifully, shuttling him in and out when we needed him he was defenitly there! but i want to see him on saturday with no fouls so he can contiue to play his heart out on defense! i predict another win for uwm.... GO panthers!!!!!! i want the sweet 16 soo bad, i want a crack against the bezt team in the nation hopefully the illini beat navada and gove us that chance!

Its another story of UWM playing a team with great talent and size difference. THe BC fowards are nice and wide and will be able to cause more problems in the paint than Bama did. This will be bc they are going to get great ball movement. More than Bama. This will go towards their attempt to wear the panthers down. If we thought bama is tall, BC is as wide as bama is tall.
Other than that, i watched their play against PENN and i must say im excited. They were very sloppy and inconsistant. I do not know if this will translate to the panther game but this slopyy play can really aide the panthers run and press game. They allowed many open shots for PENN more than i saw in the whole day. If ed and theboys get hot it will be a very interesting game.

BC was definitely sloppy yesterday. If Skinner gets on them, shows them the plays, and goes over everything with them over the next 24 hours, you could see some great improvements. The BC players tend to look up to Al, and will do everything in thier power to make him happy.
A lot of them are just as motivated as you guys, only our drive is a close loss last year that they need to make up for, and trying to proove that giving them a weak #4 seed was uncalled for.
The mindset you talked about is another thing we have in common. If you read the interviews with BC players, they always believe (even when trailing by 7-11 at half) that they are going to win. This makes them harder to get rid of.

The only full game I've seen BC play was agaisnt Penn and that's probably not a good indication. Penn has got to be the worst 13 seed in the history of tournament. They have maybe one guy who would crack the Panther's rotation and he wouldn't start. BC won that game far more handily than the 20 point margin indicates.
They seemed very susceptible to pressure. Penn's half cout pressure bothered them and those guys, while I am sure they have great SATs, make YSU look like Illinois. BC is big and athletic but no more so than Bama who had great athletes.
My concern: Smith is a beast - Armond Williams with skills. If the Panthers can keep him from ruling the paint (and I think we can), then we have a good shot.
But I wonder. If you look at the last three games, the guys that hurt us were the guards - Gouard, Cotton and Steele. I don't know that BC has a guy that can do that. I think we win this.
